Duke, Maxine Harp, age 91, of Clarksville, TN, died September 4, 2020.

Maxine was born May 15, 1929 in Stewart County, TN. She was the daughter of the late, Jeffie and Maggie Rittenberry Harp. Maxine was a lover of life and people. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and going for long rides. Maxine was also preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Billy Carol Duke; children, Mary Jane Huxoll and Terry C. Duke and siblings, Jeffie Harp, J.C. Harp, Susie Harp Carrigan, William H. Harp, Lucille Harp Daniels, Gertrude Hembree, Katie Mildred Harp and Nettie Lightner.

She is survived by:

Sons – Danny C. Duke and David B. Duke

Sisters – Jean Harp and Gracie Miller

Grandchildren – Danny Duke, Jr., Robert Duke, David Duke, Jr.,

                              Jennifer Duke, Amber Duke Allen and Gary Lee Huxoll

Threapleton, James Marvin, age 77, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 5, 2020. Marvin was born in Farsley, England. Antiques cars were his passion and you could often find him in his garage. Marvin enjoyed playing pool at the Mt. Juliet/West Wilson Senior Center. He also enjoyed traveling and cruising on the ocean. Marvin was a member of the British Sporting Club, famous for the skits at the annual St. George’s dance. Marvin was the Showmaster. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Threapleton; mother, Mary Threapleton and several siblings.

He is survived by:

Wife of 57 years – Brenda Threapleton

Daughters – Deborah Threapleton and Deanne Threapleton

Brother – Brian Threapleton

7 Grandchildren and 9 Great-grandchildren

Hagar, Bobby Neal, age 78, of Nashville, TN, died September 6, 2020. Bobby was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was an avid hunter and gardener. Bobby was the son of the late, James and Opal Wolfe Hagar. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Katherine Smith, Janie Steele, Janice Robinson and David Pickett.

Yawn, Howard Richard, age 71, of Madison, TN, died September 1, 2020. Mr. Yawn was in charge of the grounds and maintenance for the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockville, IN and lead in their fund raising efforts. Mr. Yawn was a lifelong railroad enthusiast. He enjoyed building model railroads and photography. Mr. Yawn was the son of the late Howard Wallace and Hattie Eckert Schaerer Yawn.

He is survived by:

Embury, June Eastman, age 93, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 7, 2020. Mrs. Embury was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late, George and Esther Webster Eastman.

Carver, Gracie Mae Oldham, age 96, of Mt. Juliet, TN, departed this life on September 10, 2020. She was born October 18, 1923 to the late Jesse and Laura Alexander Oldham. Grace was a long time member of LaGuardo Methodist Church where she served as an usher and a Stewardess (serving the Lord’s table). She was educated in the Wilson County School System. Grace was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Carver; daughters, Janis Lynn Carver and Jamie Carver Brooks; son-in-law, Larry Brooks and siblings, Maggie Bentley, Howard Oldham, Claude Oldham, Jess Oldham, Willie Oldham and Bob Oldham.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

Eakes, James Edward, age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 14, 2020. Mr. Eakes was a member of Corinth Church of Christ, a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from NES. He enjoyed quail, pheasant and dove hunting. Mr. Eakes was the son of the late, Lonnie Everett and Artie Bright Eakes. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Christine Wright and Evelyn Lannom.

Monica was a licensed real estate agent with Crye Leike and had served as Senior Administrative Assistant to Margaret Dixon since 1996. She was an animal lover and actively participated with the Middle Tennessee Boxer Rescue. Monica was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew David Doll.

He was a retired MSgt in the U.S. Air Force and he was also retired as an engineer from Boeing. Mr. Cade enjoyed fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosie B. Cade Jackson and his siblings, Earlean Sanders, Larry C. Jackson and Willie James Jackson.

Kirkland, Kitty Gene Houghton, age 75, of Tullahoma, TN, died September 16, 2020. Kitty was retired from Textron. She was the daughter of the late, Doyle and Marie Massengale Houghton. Kitty was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie and her grandson, Johnny Sandridge.

Mitchell, Stephen Wilson, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 23, 2020. Steve was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a man of great faith and read his Bible through every year for 45 years. Steve was retired from Dupont and Bridgestone. After his retirement he worked for Bond Memorial Chapel. He enjoyed traveling, playing cards and games and watching movies, especially Westerns. Steve was the son of the late, Albert Wilson and Allie Frances Corley Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann Drayer.

He is survived by:

Herzer, Frank Winfred, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 11, 2020. Mr. Herzer was born in Kingsport, TN, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and a former president of the Lynn Garden Optimist Club. He was an avid baseball fan and Little League coach. He retired as a truck driver from the Mead Corporation in Kingsport before moving to Mt. Juliet. Mr. Herzer was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and the Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642 F&AM. He was the son of the late, Frank Matthew and Lillian Moore Herzer. He was preceded in death by sister, Joan Herzer.

He is survived by:

Wife of 61 years – Frances Davis Herzer

Son and daughter-in-law – Matthew and Stephanie Herzer

Sister – Nancy Atkinson of Kingsport, TN

Grandchildren – Gregory Herzer, Tessa Herzer, Nicholas Herzer,
