Gary Wayne Sanders

Gary Wayne Sanders, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026. He was born in Nashville to the late A.V. Sanders, Jr. and Pauline Sanders. Gary grew up in West Nashville and was a 1965 graduate of Cohn High School. He spent over 40 years working for Nashville Machine Company and maintained a long-standing commitment to his trade as a member of Sheet Metal Local 177. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and spending time on the lake. Above all else, Gary enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching them play baseball and softball. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be missed by all.

Preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and A.V. Sanders, Jr., Gary is survived by:

Wife of 52 years – Margo V. Sanders

Sons – Kevin (Renee) Sanders and Michael (Alina) Sanders

Grandchildren – Weston Sanders, Ada Sanders, Ashlynn Sanders, Gibson Sanders, August Sanders, and Gatlin Sanders

Sister – Paulette Coward
