Alexander James Burch, also known as Alex, age 57, of Antioch, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2026. Born on August 13, 1969, in Detroit, Michigan, Alexander grew up alongside his twin sister, Amy, in a Christian home where faith and family laid the foundation for his life. Alexander dedicated his life to Christ at an early age where he became a member of East Lake Baptist Church. He was a faithful member of the youth department, Sunshine Band, and eventually he would represent the district and become a Man of Tomorrow. He graduated from Jared W. Finney High School and carried those early values and a deep appreciation for family with him throughout the years.
Alex’s heart belonged to his beloved life partner, Joy, with whom he shared countless moments of happiness with. He was a devoted father to his son, Tori, and took great pride in being a grandfather to Adelyn and Karsyn, but to Alex he referred to them as “da homies”.
Alexander enjoyed life on the bowling lanes, around a table of good food, and cheering on his Tennessee Titans. A season ticket holder for many years, his loyalty to the Titans was a familiar part of who he was.
Alexander was preceded in death by his beloved life partner, Joy Phillips; his loving mother, Virginia Burch; his father, James Burch; and his sister, Alycia Williams.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Tori (Summer) Burch; his grandchildren, Adelyn and Karsyn; his twin sister, Amy Burch; his nephew, Joshua; and his siblings, Melody, Keith, Rod, Rochelle, Robert, and Marcus. Aunts and Uncles & his Stepmother Alice Burch. His memory will also live on among his extended family, including his Alabama family, and many dear friends in Nashville and Detroit.
The family will honor Alexander’s life with a small, private gathering. There will be no public service. Those who knew and loved him are invited to remember him in a way that reflects their own connection to him—by sharing a favorite story, enjoying a meal in his honor, or cheering on the Titans.
