Listen to Obituary

Katharine Anne Lachenmyer passed away on October 3, 2026, at Harmony at Mt. Juliet in Mt. Juliet. She was born on December 4, 1948, in Jacksonville, Florida, and lived a life marked by service, purpose, and a love of her family.

Born in Jacksonville, Katharine later moved to Atlanta in 1977. Before entering nursing, she worked for a number of years at State Farm Insurance where she met her husband, Bill. Their daughter Lisa was born in 1976. She then attended Emory University where she earned her RN degree. Katharine went on to work as a registered nurse in the Urology Department at Emory Clinic. She enjoyed her job and felt that she was doing important work. Her career was one of service to others, and nursing gave expression to her desire to make a difference in the lives of those around her.

Beyond her work and service, Katharine loved to travel. She went on many trips; some with her family and some with Wilson Bank travel club, and some with her friends. She and Bill joined Providence Church when they moved to Mt. Juliet. Her favorite hobby was reading, but her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren: Katie, Sean, and Allison.

Katharine was preceded in death by her parents, Woodrow Williford and Mary Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Janet Wildes, and her brother-in-law, Phillip Allen.

Katharine is survived by her husband, Bill Lachenmyer; her daughter Lisa Lachenmyer (Cathy Pardue), and her grandchildren Katie Lachenmyer, Sean Pardue, and Allison Lachenmyer.
