Mitchell, Sammy Lamar “Sam”, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 6, 2020. Sam was a member of Livings Springs Baptist Church. He was the owner of Precision Painting Contractors. Sam was an avid hunter and fisherman and a diehard Georgia Bulldogs fan. He was the son of the late, Charlie Dewey Mitchell and Lorene Scott Woodring. Sam was also preceded in death by his son, Cory Mitchell and sister, Donna Clark.

He is survived by:

Wife of 44 years – Theresa Godfrey Mitchell 

Children – Mark (Kim) Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell and April Mitchell

Grandchildren – David (Allison) Mitchell, Zachary (Andrea) Mitchell and

                       Urijah Mitchell

Fererro, Richard Paul, age 79, of Hendersonville, TN, and formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 9, 2020. Mr. Fererro was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and a retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the son of the late, Morris and Doshia Barton Fererro. Mr. Fererro was also preceded in death by his wife, Judith Fererro.

He is survived by:

Fitzpatrick, III, Joseph William “Joe”, age 46, of Whites Creek, TN, died January 9, 2020. Joe loved music, cooking, playing pool and pit bulls. He was preceded in death by his father, LTC Joseph W. Fitzpatrick, Jr. (Retired) and paternal grandparents, Col. Joseph William Fitzpatrick (Retired) and Barbara Ann Fitzpatrick and maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Elizabeth Buchanan.

Ladd, Carry Allan, age 39, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 11, 2020. Carry attended St. Stephen Catholic Community. He was a 1999 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and an electrician for over 15 years. Carry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Lee Etwell Curtis and aunt, Robbin Tice.

He is survived by:

A Funeral Mass will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at St. Stephen Catholic Community, 14544 Lebanon Road, Old Hickory, TN with Father Pat Kibby officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Richie Frazier, Chris Frazier, Justin Tice, Dylan Vineyard, Ray Purtle and Glen Brons.

Brantley, Patricia Ann, age 84, of Hermitage, TN, died January 11, 2020. Mrs. Brantley was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church and President of the WMU. She had a 35 year career in the banking industry and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. For years, Mrs. Brantley and her husband devoted time and talents to mission work, including several trips to Honduras. Her other interests include travel, cooking, sewing and crafts, gardening and shopping (especially garage sales). The Smokey Mountains, her chosen home for many years, held special meaning and was the location of many close friendships. Mrs. Brantley was rarely encountered without a warm smile and a kind word for all. Mrs. Brantley was the daughter of the late, John William and Queenie Ann Crenshaw Miles of Mississippi.

She is survived by:

Husband – Frank B. Brantley

Brother – James R. (Cynthia L.) Miles

Nieces – Faye Moore, Gwendoline Newman and Carol Miles

Nephews – Ken Anderson and Jay Miles

Special cousins – Sylvia and Ed Russell and Kim and Scott McFadden

Greene, Bobby Gene, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, TN, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Mr. Greene was born February 1, 1933 to the late, Thomas Cyre and Wilma Retha Clinard Green. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a member of the Denton/Oliver Sunday School Class. Mr. Greene grew up in Minor Hill, Shores Community of Giles County and attended Bodenham High School. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he served as a crypto operator during the Korean Conflict, and he retired after 40 years from WKRN – Channel 2. He spent his retirement years helping neighbors and friends, woodworking and gardening. Mr. Greene was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Ann Clendening Greene.

He is survived by:

Daughters – Pam Greene of Bartlett, TN and

                  Sandy Greene, (Dave) Dewald of Mt. Juliet, TN

Grandson – Samuel Joseph Dewald of Mt. Juliet, TN

Sister – Gail (George) Barnes

Brother – Billy (Betty) Green

 

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Chuck Groover and Rev. James Hambrick officiating. Private interment with military honors will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Dave Dewald, Randy Barnes, Ron Adams, Buddy Reagan, Ray Twyman and Billy Hunnicutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Joseph Dewald and George Barnes.

 

The family wishes to thank Dr. Ralf Habermann at the Nashville Veterans Administration Hospital, the loving caregivers at Carrick Glen Memory Care Unit, Denise Hambrick, Joann Jackson and Julia Hamblen for their love, care and companionship.

Greer, Leslie Ann Breedlove, age 34, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 21, 2020. Leslie had attended Mt. Juliet High School and was a cashier at the Cracker Barrel in Mt. Juliet. She had a big heart, a smile to match and a beautiful spirit. She enjoyed fishing and family but most of all she had a great love for her children. Leslie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Margaret Breedlove and her step-father, Greg Ogden.

She is survived by:

Spangler, Carol Faye, age 83, of Lebanon, TN, died January 23, 2020. Mrs. Spangler was the daughter of the late, Charles Fay and Melba Isabell Boone Cory. She was also preceded in death by her son, Timothy Spangler.

She is survived by:

Husband of 51 years – Ray Spangler

Sons – Michael (Patti) Spangler, Marty (Deanna) Seng and

          Raymond (Hannah) Spangler, Jr.

Meers, Sarah Marie, age 15, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 22, 2020. Sarah had attended Mt. Juliet Middle School and was currently a freshman at Mt. Juliet High School. She loved glitter, unicorns, rainbows and music and she especially loved Jesus, her family, friends and her dog, Aspen. Sarah was preceded in death by her uncle, Chuck Worthington.

Gray, Reverend Jon Kenneth, age 76, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 21, 2020. Reverend Gray was an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and served as pastor, teacher and counselor to many over his 35 years of service. A graduate of Eastern Nazarene College in 1965, he obtained a Bachelor of Religion and Master’s Degree in Counseling. He was ordained in 1969. He pastored a number of churches in New England including; Cambridge MA, Lowell First Church MA, Dalton Berkshire MA, Concord NH, and Bangor First Church ME. He also pastored churches on the Central Florida District; Orlando First and United Church of the Nazarene from 1986 – 1997. Reverend Gray completed his pastoral career at Covenant Fellowship Church in Mt Juliet, TN. After retirement, he continued to minister to many through family and marriage counseling. Jon served for four years as the Volunteer Coordinator at Mt Juliet Animal Care and Control Center. Jon was the son of the late Kenneth and Rosalind Forrest Gray. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nancy Waterman Gray.

He is survived by:

Children – Jeffrey J. (Brenda J.) Gray, Julie J. Gray and

               Heather (Mark) Rampey

Sister- Rosemarie Gray

Grandchildren – Taylor Gray, Jordan Gray, Mackenzie Gray, Zachary Gray,

                       Paige Wilson and Jacob Rampey

Bell, Dorothy Maxine Woodson, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 28, 2020. Mrs. Bell was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet where she served as organist for 15 years and worked in the Youth Department. With her husband, Jim, she owned and served as Vice President and Treasurer of Signcraft, Inc. Upon her retirement in 1995, Mrs. Bell began working for the Wilson County Election Commission. She enjoyed over 50 years of camping across the United States. Mrs. Bell was famously known for her Sunday lunches. She was the daughter of the late, James Siggle and Martha Elizabeth Davenport Woodson. Mrs. Bell was also preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Louise Woodson and Bertha Dale Thompson.

She is survived by:

Husband of 62 ½ years – James P. “Jim” Bell

Sons – James Gregory (Maleah) Bell and Timothy Evan (Jonna) Bell

Grandchildren – Justin Evan (Nicki) Bell, Erin Elizabeth (Kyle) Comer,

                       Lauren Elise (Tyler) Michaels, Corley Breeanna Bell,

                       Kaci Britt (Jeffrey) Long, Timothy Evan (Caylie) Bell, Jr.,

Luper, Donald Wade “Duck”, age 55, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died January 29, 2020. Donald was a 1983 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. He was a building contractor and co-owner of Luper Brothers Construction. Donald was very patriotic. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and target shooting. Donald also enjoyed cooking and had won several awards at the Wilson County Fair. He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Luper and niece, Haily Luper.

He is survived by:

Wife of 30 years – Debbie Luper

Son – Chandler Luper

Mother – Janie Luper

Siblings – Jimmy Luper, Jerry Luper, Preston Luper and

              Belinda (Shawn) Grindale
