Wright, Bobby Lee, age 91, of Lebanon, TN, died March 1, 2019. Mr. Wright was a member of Green Hill Church. He was a former Lieutenant with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and an aide for Governor Frank G. Clement. Mr. Wright later went on to own several small businesses. He was one of the founders of the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He loved buying, selling, repairing and racing cars and he loved animals, especially dogs and horses and Noah, the cat. Mr. Wright was the son of the late, Jesse Raby Wright, Sr. and Mary Lee Johnson Wright. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Hutchison Wright; siblings, Nancy Petty and Jesse Wright, Jr. and his aunt, Elizabeth Johnson Wright.

He is survived by:

Daughters – Barbara (Phillip) Sisk and Maryann (Clyde) Hicks

Grandchildren – Trent Lyda, Todd (Jen) Lyda, Aaron Hicks and

                       Haley (John) Charlton

3 Great-grandchildren

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Sisk, Clyde Hicks, Trent Lyda, Todd Lyda and Aaron Hicks.

Sorey, William Robert “Bill”, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died March 3, 2019.

Bill was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a 1964 graduate of Donelson High School and was retired from Yellow Freight. Bill was a member and Past Master of Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642 F&AM. He was a member of the Scottish Rite and York Rite and an Ambassador of Al Menah Shrine. Bill was the founder of the Jimmy Edwards Scholarship Fund for Donelson High School. He was awarded Volunteer of the Year for Toys for Tots. Bill was the son of the late, John Francis Sorey and Lelia Ursery Sorey Jones.

He is survived by:

Wife of 30 years – Vickie Ford Sorey

Sons – Bob Sorey, Chris (Jennifer) Sorey, Jason (Amanda) Sorey and

          John (Ashley) Hunter

Daughter – Jamie White

Brothers - John Sorey and Don Sorey

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Darrell Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Doyle Lenning, Lendon Grisham, Jerry Alley, Brian Lay, Pete Crawford, Preston Lay, David Reed and Tim Horton. Honorary pallbearers will be Grady Lynn, Bob Gaston, Jr., Dr. Tarol Patel, Wes Neeley, Jeff Thompson, Tommy Brewer and Joe Tomlinson.

Johnny Lee Byrd, age 88, of Mt. Juliet, TN and formerly of Donelson, TN, passed away March 12, 2019. Mr. Byrd was the son of the late, Dewey and Elma Rector Byrd and was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Patricia Ann Newport Byrd. He is survived by his sister, Leela Cross; son, Michael Byrd; daughters, Teri Byrd (Howard Blaydes) and Kimberly Ann (Barry) Lance; grandchildren, Jonathan Ryan (Sara) Hodges and Rachel Ann Hodges; and great-grandchildren, Wren Grey Hodges and another due in October.

 

Mr. Byrd was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Donelson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served 20 months in Germany. Mr. Byrd graduated from Nashville Barber School and worked as a barber at Sewart Air Force Base, Nashville Airport and AVCO. He was a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite, Shrine and was very active in Masonary, where he served as past presiding officer in the Lodge. He was also Past Grand Master of the Grand Chapter of Tennessee. In 1990, he accepted a job to be a leader of the Masonic Widows and Orphans Home Fund in Tennessee.

 

Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at Bond Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to services Saturday. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Jack Barron and Terry Buckner officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Barry Lance, Blake Simmons, Erik Buckmeyer, Howard Blaydes, Jonathan Hodges and Joshua Lance. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Wharton, David Bunce, Mike Villa, Tom Hager, Tom Rogers and Wayne Sirmans.

Zumbro, Jackson O. “Jack”, age 87, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died March 16, 2019.
Mr. Zumbro was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was retired from Kroger. Mr. Zumbro was a long-time farmer and beekeeper. He was the son of the late, Charles and Bertha Zumbro. Mr. Zumbro was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Denson Zumbro and his twin sister, Jean Lenard and sister, Lola Cook.
He is survived by:

Rynders, Betty Ruth Albertson, age 79, of Old Hickory, TN, died March 15, 2019. Mrs. Ryders was a former employee of Ingram Book Company and Bass Pro Shop. She was the daughter of the late, Gilbert G. and Sue West Albertson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Peter Nelson Rynders.

She is survived by:

Children – Beth Rich, Lisa (Patrick) O’Donnell, Jay (Maricor) Fletcher and

               Mark (Lynn) Rynders

Malone, Naomia Lee Maynard, age 90, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died March 21, 2019. Mrs. Malone was a member of Donelson church of the Nazarene. She was retired from Sears and was formerly the Cafeteria Manager at West Wilson Middle School. Mrs. Malone was the daughter of the late, William Arvie and Willie A. Braswell Maynard. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, James Malone and by her siblings, Clifton Maynard, Keeble Thweatt and Barbara Craig.
She is survived by:

Brothers – Marshall Maynard and Gerald Maynard
Sisters – Shirley Wright, Sally Jones and Syble Waite

On the morning of March 18, 2019, Morgan Cantrell, of Watertown, TN passed away at the age of 83. Morgan was born in Kingston, West Virginia to John and Bessie Cantrell in 1935, the youngest of seven children. Following graduation, Morgan enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware. Upon returning to Bend, Oregon, Morgan met and eventually married his wife of 57 years, Marion Judith Moores and together they raised two daughters, Terissa and Lisa.
Morgan worked in various fields throughout his life, but thoroughly enjoyed being a master Gunsmith, and President of the Central Oregon Muzzle Loaders Assoc. He hand crafted rifles from mere pieces of wood, into functioning pieces of art. If he didn’t have the part he needed for a rifle he was working on, he simply made it. He took great joy in passing on his extensive knowledge of guns to his close friends, including Shaun and his son-in-law Craig. Morgan was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed taking his family with him during his outings. Morgan loved photography, flying small planes and had hoped to get his pilot’s license at one point.
Morgan is survived by, his wife Judy Cantrell, Daughters, Terissa and Lisa, his older brother Ralph and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Cantrell’s request, his remains will be cremated.

Colio, Jesse Edward, age 30, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died March 22, 2019. Jesse was a 2006 graduate of Johansen High School in Modesto, CA and went to boot camp at MCRD San Diego just 9 days after graduating. Jesse was a patriot and a proud Marine. His deployments include Iraq in 2008 (MWSS-172 based in Okinawa, Japan), two Afghanistan deployments in 2010 (1st Batallion 2nd Marines based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and in 2012 (Combat Logistics Battalion 2 also based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and Moran, Spain for a Special Purpose Marine air Task Force – Crisis Response in 2014 (Combat Logistics Battalion 2). Jesse’s awards in the Marine Corps included: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation (2 stars), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Good Conduct Medal (2 stars), National Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign (2 stars), Iraq Campaign (1 star), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Navy Sea Service Deployment (3 stars) and NATO (ISAF). He loved football, his jeep Wrangler and playing with his three young children. To those who knew him, he could always be counted upon for his quick wit and infectious smile. Jesse was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Erald Choate.

Sharrer, Dianna Lynn, age 47, of Woodbury, TN, died March 28, 2019. Dianna was a Coordinator for L&W Engineering for over 10 years and a veteran of the U.S. Army. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and kayaking. Dianna also enjoyed cooking, crafts and her dogs. She was the daughter of the late, Richard Nedrow and Dorothy Ward Nedrow Nichols. Dianna was also preceded in death by her uncle, Ron Nedrow and aunt, Emily Stier.

She is survived by:
