Tanner, Roy Howard, age 77, of Nashville, TN, died January 30, 2019. Mr. Tanner was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam era. He was the son of the late, Ray Howard and Sally Brazzel Tanner. He was also preceded of 51 years, Sue Ferguson Tanner.

He is survived by:

Son – Perry (Stacy) Tanner

Daughter – Deanna (David) Fullerton

Half-sister – Diane Tanner

Harding, Foy Dell, age 93, of Mt. Juliet , TN, died February 1, 2019. Mrs. Harding was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late, John E. and Maxie Hamblen Wright. Mrs. Harding was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Franklin Harding; son, George B. Harding and granddaughter, Kellie R. Harding.

Croley, Kathleen Louise, age 66, of Mulberry, TN, died January 24, 2019.

Kathy was born in Youngstown, OH on November 17, 1952 to the late, Margaret Arnett and William Dougherty. She graduated from Kofa High School in Yuma, AZ and worked as a radiology technician for Ross Clinic in Huntsville, AL for 15 years. After she retired, she spent her time in ministry as the assistant director of Wings in Love in Fayetteville, TN. She was very active in her church, played mandolin and fiddle in an all-girl band (Band of Pearls), was an outstanding seamstress, loved spending time in her garden and spending time with her family, especially her 10 grandchildren. Kathy was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Jenny Rebecca and her brother, Chuck Dougherty.

She is survived by:

Children – Stephanie (Pasi) Kinturi, Cori Bull, Adam Croley and

               Michael (Liana) Croley

Hughes, Richard Lee “Rick”, age 70, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 2, 2019 at home surrounded by family. Rick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam era. He was retired from Willis America and enjoyed all sports. Some of his favorite teams were The Ohio State University, Vanderbilt University, the Tennessee Titans and the Nashville Predators. Rick was the son of the late, Edward L. and Edna Detrick Hughes. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Ralph and John Hughes and an infant sister.

He is survived by:

Wife of 39 ½ years – Ellen Denton Hughes

Son – John (Michelle) Hughes

Brothers – Jim (Lonnie) Hughes, Larry (Pat) Hughes and Jerry Hughes

Grandson – Johnathon (Rachel) Hughes

Farmer, Donna Lee, age 79, of Quebeck, TN and formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 5, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Mrs. Farmer was born in St. Louis, Missouri to the late, LaVern and Vera McNew Reeds. She was a member of Gum Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Farmer was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Susan Reeds, Barbara Reeds Poenicke and James Reeds.

Thornhill, Charlotte Ann Morrison, age 77, of Lebanon, TN, died February 11, 2019. Mrs. Thornhill was a member of Maple Hill Church of Christ and a former member of Northside Church of Christ. She was employed by Tennessee Farm Bureau for over 40 years. Mrs. Thornhill was the daughter of the late, Charles and Lucille Flanagan Morrison. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Beverlee Thornhill Hendry.

Woodard, Mary Evelyn “Meme”, age 90, of Lebanon, TN, died January 24, 2019. Mrs. Woodard was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed singing in the choir and playing the piano. Mrs. Woodard was an excellent seamstress. She loved to play cards, especially bridge. Mrs. Woodard had a great sense of humor and loved to entertain. She was the daughter of the late, Jack D. and Mary Matthews Chambers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Allen Woodard and her sisters, Jacqueline Broome and Rebecca Lange.

Brewer, Bonnie Marie, age 79, of Elizabethton, TN passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN. A native of Lawrence County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Paulie and Bessie Ketchum Belew. She previously owned and operated a barbeque restaurant in Nashville, TN. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved taking care of her family and spending time outdoors doing gardening and planting flowers of all kinds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Brewer; a son, Michael Brewer and a grandson, Bobby Mobley.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Debbie Smith and husband Rick and Brenda Mobley; grandsons, Jesse Smith and Cody Smith and his fiancé Randa Pinnex; a granddaughter, Christy Mobley; great-grandchildren, Taylor Metcalf and McKenzie “Jo” Mobley. Three sisters, six brothers and a special companion of seventeen years, Charles Simpkins also survive.

A service to honor the life of Bonnie Marie Brewer will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Bond Memorial Chapel with Chaplain William Wiley officiating. Cass, Gary, age 70, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away February 24, 2019. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Gary attended Central Michigan University where he met his beautiful bride, Josie. He graduated from CMU with three degrees in education and spent his entire life impacting students in the state of Michigan. Gary was a guidance counselor, the youngest school principal in Michigan at the age of 28, high school basketball coach, Director Education for the state of Michigan and ended his career working for his dear friend at JCR & Associates managing charter schools across the state. He loved Michigan sports and was a diehard Michigan State and Detroit Tigers fan. Gary watched every game with a Natural Light in hand and a deep pride for his teams. Some of his favorite memories were celebrating Spartan wins with his dear friends on Glenberry Drive. Gary had six hole-in-one’s and loved playing golf with his “boys” and his son, Bradley. He loved coaching his kid’s little league teams and never missed a game or golf match they played in. Gary was like a second father to many of the Holt kids that spent so much time at the Cass household. He loved to tell stories, make inappropriate jokes and made everyone laugh with his witty sense of humor. Gary has reunited in heaven with his beloved father, Joe, swapping Detroit Tigers stories and laughing on the golf course.

Grandchildren, who were the love of Gary’s life and he made sure they knew it every day – Alex, Joey and Maxwell

Spears, Robert L., age 82, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 26, 2019. Mr. Spears attended Hume Fogg High School. He was a Tennessee Registered Land Surveyor, having worked for the City of Nashville and J.R. Wauford & Co. before starting his business, R.L. Spears & Co. in 1973 in Mt. Juliet. Mr. Spears was the son of the late, Norman and Sue Spears. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Lorilee Spears Brown and his sister, Norma Sue Davis.

Goodall, Sr., John Michael “Mike”, age 77, of Old Hickory, TN, died February 12, 2019. Mr. Goodall was a member of the Baptist faith and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He Loved woodworking and traveling. Mr. Goodall was the son of the late, John Thomas and Thelma Ailene Crick Goodall. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Margrete Ann Reisig Goodall; daughter, Kellye Goodall Burgess and sisters, Velda Barnwell and Evelyn Banks. Mr. Goodall was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Rue, III, Nelson Bright “Skip”, age 62, of Mt. Juliet, TN, and formerly of Bowling Green, KY and Crestview Hills, KY died February 28, 2019. Mr. Rue was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Bowling Green, KY, Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Northern Kentucky, and attended Providence United Methodist Church in Mt. Juliet. He was a healthcare executive, an entrepreneur and a Registered Nurse. Mr. Rue was a volunteer and Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol. He was a musician, a pilot and an equestrian. Mr. Rue was the son of the late, Nelson Bright Rue, Jr. and Martha Sue Rogers Rue.

He is survived by:

Wife of 40 years – Carol Wear Rue

Daughters – Laura (Nathan) Rue-Shaw and Suzanne (Eric) Rue Adkins

Siblings – Nancye (Richard) Feistritzer, Jon (Melinda) Rue, Becky (Tom) Keck

              and David (Linda) Rue

Grandchildren – Caroline, Miriam and Baby Boy Adkins due in July 2019

Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Providence United Methodist Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN. Funeral services will be conducted immediately after, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jacob Armstrong and Pastor Mark Youngman officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY.

Smith, Aaron James, age 42, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 18, 2019. Aaron was a 1994 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and owner of Insta-Clean, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. He was an avid fisherman, grew roses and enjoyed martial arts.

He is survived by:

Mother – Sandra (Dennis) Jorgensen of Sparks, NV

Fiancé – Kara Weber of Jacksonville, FL

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Chaplain William Wiley officiating.
