A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Providence United Methodist Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Jacob Armstrong and Pastor Mark Youngman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

Petty, Joe E., age 90, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 9, 2022. Joe was born in Smith County, TN and was the son of the late, Floyd Mason Petty and Era Moss Petty. He was a retired machinist with AVCO/Textron and a bass fisherman. Joe was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Jo Petty; son, Dan Petty and  sisters, Doris Brannam, Ruby Jean Griffin, Betty Weston and Emma Hamblin.

He is survived by:

Sons – Steve (Carol Stuart) Petty and Randy (Connie) Petty

Daughter-in-law – Elizabeth Petty

Sisters – Shirley Young and Joyce Johnson

Brother – Paul Petty

Runnfeldt, Berent “Berry”, age 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on July 11, 2022. Berry was born in Chicago, IL and was the son of the late, Elvin Runnfeldt and Anna Carlstrom Runnfeldt. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the U.S. Army Band (trumpet) in France during the Korean War.

He is survived by:

Wife of 70 years – Loretta Loewe Runnfeldt

Children – Kathie (Mike Hayes), Kenneth (Peggy Monahan), Janice (Charlie Stefl) and

               Judy (Art) Lindaman

Grandchildren – Kristin, Sean, Owen, Michelle, Nicholas, Shannon and Ashley

Great-grandchildren – Evelyn, Keaton, Kaylee, Malia, Maysie and Rory

 

No funeral services are planned at this time. Burial will be in Clearwater, FL.

Eads, Timothy Lane, age 68, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 15, 2022. Timmy was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, Bobby Keith Eads and Lula Mai Huffines Eads. He enjoyed watching racing, fishing and spending time with family. Timmy was also preceded in death by his niece, Gina Putman.

He is survived by:

Brother – Terry (Vickie) Eads

Sister – Tabitha (Brock) Daly

Nieces and nephews – Monica, T.K. (Sierra), Will, Jack and Grace

Walker, Jr., David Emmett, age 96, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 18, 2022. Emmett was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, David Emmett Walker and Birdie Pauline Bracy Walker. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army serving in WWII and a 50 year member of American Legion Post #88. Emmett was an entrepreneur, starting and running his own business, for 25 years. He coached Little League in Mt. Juliet and Tusculum for 16 years and was an avid golfer, who over the years, was able to get 4 Hole in Ones. Emmett was also preceded in death by his son, Ralph Emmett Walker and siblings, Charles Edward Walker, Roberta Ellis and Nancy McNeese.

He is survived by:

Wife of 57 years – Jean Maynor Walker

Children – John Craig (Mary Helen) Walker, Paul Robin Walker,

               Maryde (Cathy Brewer) Arnold, Jerre Thomas (Lynne) Maynor and

               Sheila Lynn (David) Dea

10 Grandchildren and 12 Great-grandchildren

 

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at 1 p.m. Friday at Salem Cemetery in Liberty, TN. Active pallbearers will be Jason Walker, Michael Walker, Jerry Maynor, Jr., Gavin Dea, Chris Vance and Glynn Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie George, Glen Bubel, Roy Heil, Steve Brower and Guy Parrish.

Anderson, Claudia Jean Cobb, age 77, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 23, 2022. Claudia was born in Chattanooga, TN and was the daughter of the late, Robert Cobb and Cora Weidner Cobb. She was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. Claudia was a dental assistant for 30 years at the office of Ken Williams, DDS before retiring. She enjoyed reading, quilting and spending time with her family. Claudia was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert “Bobby” Cobb.

She is survived by:

Husband of 54 years – Robert Anderson

Daughters – Robin (Sean) Speight, Melissa (Daniel Leguizamo) Anderson and

                  Paula Harmon (Kyle) Smith

Sister – Patricia (Eddie) McCoy

Grandchildren – Mia Harmon, Rex Harmon and William Speight

Great-grandchild – Lucas Psanis

Beatty, Linda Duszynski, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 27, 2022. Linda was born in Chicago, IL and was the daughter of the late, Edward Duszynski and Louise Hayes Duszynski. She was a member of Celebration Lutheran Church. Linda was an artist and studied art in Rome for 6 weeks. She enjoyed sculpture, oil, watercolor and collage. Linda taught art at Hillwood High School and Dupont Tyler Middle School and volunteered at Byars Dowdy after her retirement. She enjoyed silent retreats. Linda was also preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Beatty.

She is survived by:

Husband of 48 years – Jerry Beatty

Daughter – Christin (Ryan) Christman

Sisters – Lisa (Mike) Toney and Peggy Duszynski

Grandchildren – Piper, Greta, Asa and Shepherd

 

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Edward W. Myers officiating. Entombment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

O’Neal, Joyce Charlene Miller, age 81, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 30, 2022. Joyce was born in Detroit, MI and was the daughter of the late, Paul Herman Miller and Melba J. Vaughn Miller. She was a member of The Glade Church. Joyce was an avid reader and sports fan. She enjoyed SEC football, the Braves, UT and the Titans. Joyce was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon L. O’Neal, Sr.; twin sister, Judy Mendez and brother, Gene Parrish.

She is survived by:

Children – Vernon “Butch” (Sonya) O’Neal, Jr. Bobby (Sandy) O’Neal, Bridget (Joe) Scott

               and Bethany (Bobby) Collins

Sisters – Norma (Gary) Carter and Marilyn (Dale) Treve

Grandchildren – Brandi Dickson, Trey O’Neal, Josh O’Neal, Bobby O’Neal, Laura Smith,

Wolverton, Richard.heic

Wolverton, Richard Wayne, age 75, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 1, 2022. Rich was born in Camden, NJ and was the son of the late, Charles Wolverton and Dorothy Stites Wolverton. He was a special, kind and generous man, always wanting to play a practical joke that would result in lots of laughter. Rich loved the water, boating and fishing. When it came to time to planning and constructing, he always had a project in mind. No matter what you called him, Rich, Bubba or Wagon, he was always there to help you. Besides his wife, children and sisters, he leaves behind his poker buddies. Rich was a very good man and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by:

Wife of 52 years – Carol Eisaman Wolverton

Children – Amie Wolverton and Steven Wolverton

Sisters – Barbara Sakanas, Charlene Walh and Bonnie Lynch

Richard Leigh “Rick” Pilgreen, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN died July 30, 2022. Rick was born in Birmingham, AL and was the son of the late, Oscar Sidney Pilgreen and Virginia McCombs Pilgreen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1960-1964 and remained very close to his Navy friends throughout the rest of his life. Rick spent 30 years as a salesman in the dairy industry and after retiring, he continued working part-time as a commercial driver. He enjoyed birdwatching, history, walking in the park with his friend Tommy and was an avid reader. Rick attended church at Pilgrim The Baptist Church.

 

Rick was preceded in death by his brothers, Randy Pilgreen and Michael Pilgreen.

He is survived by: Betsy Pilgreen, his wife of 45 years. Beth Pilgreen, his daughter. Steve Pilgreen, his brother. Lanie Menton and Diane Brasher, his sisters and Spicy, his “baby puppy” grand-dog.

 

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at a later date.
