Pinkelton, Michael Wayne, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 3, 2021. Mike was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, Gerald Pinkelton and Betty Lane Pinkelton. He was a graduate of Litton High School, a veteran of the U. S. Army and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mike was a former member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church. He enjoyed traveling, working in the yard and watching westerns and game shows. Mike was a big sports fan and especially was a fan of Alabama football. ROLL TIDE! He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Pinkelton.

He is survived by:

Son – Justin (Melissa) Pinkelton

Step-daughter – Amy (P.J.) Hunter

Juliet High School and was a former employee of the United Methodist Publishing House. She enjoyed music and collecting albums. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Nixon Vickers and her step-mother, Leanne Hackney Vickers.

Graves, Beverly Joyce Sutton, age 68, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died August 10, 2021. Beverly was born in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late, John Ben Sutton and Grace Reed Sutton. She was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Beverly was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ where she taught Sunday School for over 25 years. She was the Cafeteria Manager at Stoner Creek Elementary school for 20 years. Beverly enjoyed gardening and canning. She was a great cook from unwritten recipes and was proud to fix Sunday dinner every week for her family whom she adored. Beverly was also preceded in death by her brothers, Johnny Sutton and Harold Sutton.

She is survived by:

Burkeen, Sr., John Laymon, age 80, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died August 8, 2021. John was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, John Thomas Burkeen and Modene Masterson Burkeen. He was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. John was employed by Dupont, Aladdin Industries, and Dillingham and Smith. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard.

Hicks, Judy Marie Morris, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN, met her Savior face-to-face on August 4, 2021. A lifelong Texan, Judy was born in Paris, TX and was the only child of the late, Clifford Morris and Liza Ellen Dollins Morris. Having lived the last several decades of her life in Kilgore, TX, Judy moved to Mt. Juliet, TN in 2016 to be closer to her family. Judy never met a stranger and was a talented artist and an avid crafter, spending countless hours of her retirement years crocheting and “painting” in her many adult coloring books when she could no longer paint on canvas.

She is survived by:

Only child (daughter) - Shawn (Thomas) Wier

Half-sister - Cindy (Jeff) Lebowitz

Grandchildren - Timothy (Keaghan) Wier, Thea Wier, Kimberly Wier and James Wier

Great-grandsons - Blaise and Eliot Wier

and last, but not least, her beloved cats, Miss Kitty, Scooter, and Muffy.

 

A Celebration of Life memorial visitation will be conducted Thursday, August 26th from 6-8 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Her various paintings, quilts/afghans, memorabilia, and a photographic history will be on display for those who did not know her to share in her life story.

Bond, Kevin Lee, age 61, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 20, 2021. Kevin was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, Dayton and Nancy Wright Bond. He was a 1978 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and was an employee of Nashville Auto Auction/Manheim. Kevin was a long time cattle farmer. He enjoyed coon hunting and NASCAR. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Clayton and Jessie Bond and Ruby Thornton.

McGee, Lee Roy, age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 26, 2021. Lee Roy was born in Kansas City, KS and was the son of the late, Carl and Ola Myrtle Hinkle McGee. He was a graduate of Stockton High School. Lee Roy was a member of Abundant Life Church in Indianapolis, IN for over 50 years and attended Silver Springs Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, TN. He was retired from Harcross Chemical but had also been employed by the U.S. Postal Service, Marsh Supermarkets, the Speedway Company and was the former owner of LB Floral in Pendleton, IN. Lee Roy was active with the Little League and Cub Scouts and served as a Boy Scout Master. He was a 30 year member of the Lions Club in Pendleton, IN and a lifetime member of the Lions Club in Mt. Juliet, TN. Lee Roy also served as a board member for the Mt. Juliet Senior Citizens Center. He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 60 years, Blanche Ellen McGee; daughter, Diana Elsten and brothers, Freelyn Carl McGee and Robert James McGee.

He is survived by:

           Garry Dean (Linda) McClanahan of Mt. Juliet, TN and

Cox, Deborah Sue Werling, age 61, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 26, 2021.

Debbie was born in Decatur, IN. She was a graduate of Bellmont High School and Ball State University. Debbie was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church where she served in a variety ways, including on the Board of Directors, Altar Guild, Ladies Guild, Mission Team, Vacation Bible School and as a member of the bell choir. She was employed by McKesson Corporation. Debbie was known for her green thumb and her love of nature, especially flowers. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Greene.

Ortengren, Roy Geoffrey “Jeff”, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN passed quietly surrounded by family on August 24, 2021. Jeff was born in Culver City, CA and was the son of the late, Roy Hessler and Mary Jane Parker Ortengren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Brian Ortengren. Jeff worked for American Airlines for 43 years. He was active with the Wilson County Democratic Party and loved to travel. Jeff was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved to spend time with his family.

White, Bronson Timothy Alexander, age 39, of Mt. Juliet, TN passed away August 28, 2021. Bronson was born in Memphis, TN. He was a 2000 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, attended and played football at MTSU, where he was a member of the Sunbelt Championship football team and recently graduated from Lockhart Trucking Academy. Bronson attended Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He loved God and spreading God’s word. He enjoyed his job in security in the Nashville area, body building and football. Bronson had a heart of gold and brought happiness to all he met. He loved every person he met and was loved by many. Bronson was a beautiful soul. He loved his family and was a beautiful, all around precious man, and a wonderful, loving son and brother. Bronson was a strong man and had made it through some difficult times, but he had his life back on track and was excited about his future. He will be missed tremendously. We will miss his love, his silliness, his smile and definitely his talk. Bronson was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Thomas William White, Sr. and Mary Jane White and his maternal grandparents, Darvin Glasscock, Sr., and Beverly Glasscock.

Rodgers, Christopher James, age 67, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died August 30, 2021. Chris was born in Pensacola, FL and was the son of the late, Arthur James Rodgers and Exie Calfee Rodgers. He was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet, where he volunteered many hours of his time. Chris loved studying, researching and teaching God’s word. He was a graduate of Lee University in Cleveland, TN and was employed by Radio Shack for 17 years and retired from Lifeway Christian Resources with 24 years of service. Chris enjoyed fixing everything and working outdoors. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Roger Lee Rodgers.

Phares, Ethel Venora Koester, age 93, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died August 26, 2021. Ethel was born in Pontiac, Michigan and was the daughter of the late, Earl Koester and Dorothy Johnson Koester. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Ethel enjoyed sewing, gardening, adult coloring book, reading, puzzles, her bird feeders and polishing her nails. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul Phares and her sister, Elizabeth Rutter.

She is survived by:

Roadarmel, Edward Andrew “Andy”, age 39, of Gallatin, TN died August 30, 2021. Andy was born and raised in Nashville, TN. He graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in the Class of 2000 and MTSU Class of 2007. He was working his dream job in sales and business development for Digital Guardian, a cybersecurity company. Andy played baseball in high school and college and was an avid baseball fan, a diehard Ohio State Buckeye fan and an all-around athlete. Andy was a remarkable songwriter, guitar player, and performer. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Shirley Roadarmel and his maternal grandparents, Dr. Thomas and Beverly Hemmerly.

Allen, Oscar Lee, age 82, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 31, 2021. Oscar was born in Jackson County, TN and was the oldest of 9 children born to the late, Leo Allen and Mable Martin Allen. He was an artist who painted beautiful landscapes. Oscar was a sculptor and an inventor. He loved nature and outdoor projects. Oscar was a Boy Scout Leader. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Korea after the Conflict. He was devoted to his family and loved being “Poppa” to his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Arlis Allen and Orville Allen.

Archer, Jr., Robert William, DDS, age 77, of Lebanon, TN, died August 30, 2021. Bob was born in Portsmouth, VA and grew up in Chattanooga, TN. He was the son of the late, Robert William Archer, Sr. and Irma Shipp Archer.  Bob was a member of Providence United Methodist church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving from 1969-1971 as a dentist and obtaining the rank of Lieutenant. He graduated from UT Knoxville and earned his dental degree from UT Memphis.  Bob was a dentist in Mt. Juliet for nearly fifty years. He was a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association and the Music City Dental Club. Bob was also a former member of the Mt. Juliet Lions Club and a member of the Mt. Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Martha Archer and his sister, Barbara Archer.

He is survived by:

Wife of 33 years – Susan Archer

Children – Rob (Kristi) Archer, Beth (John) Renfrow, Brittany (Scott) Trawick,

                   Amy (Randy) Buttrey, and Noah Nichols

Brothers – Richard (Annie) Archer and Tommy Archer

Grandchildren – Brenden Archer, Kyleigh Archer, Kamrynn Archer, Ty Lenderman,

                              Blaine Lenderman, Camden Trawick, Freya Trawick, Cole

                              and Cheyenne Buttrey, Hailee Nichols and Wyatt Nichols

 

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Providence United Methodist Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Mark Youngman officiating. 

 

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Grace & Glory, 540 Weeping Elm Road, Mt. Juliet, TN or to Providence Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122 to support relief efforts around the world.

 

Visitation will be at the church from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday.
