Hamilton, Judy A., age 99, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 3, 2020. Mrs. Hamilton was a charter member of Celebration Lutheran Church. She and her husband owned Hamilton Machine Shop and she was the bookkeeper there for many years. She loved flowers and baking and was affectionately known as the “Cookie Lady”. Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of the late, Sam J. and Ida M. Iverson Samuelson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe P. Hamilton, Jr.; daughter, Diane Hamilton and grandson, Keith Hamilton.
She is survived by:

Waldrop, Binnie Susan, age 74, of Lincoln, AL, died April 3, 2020. Mrs. Waldrop was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. She enjoyed quilting, was an avid reader, and loved spoiling her pet chihuahua, Lucy, and her “granddog,” Lily. Mrs. Waldrop was the daughter of the late Luther and Winnie Hays McCollum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Joe Waldrop; son, Charles Andrew “Andy” McVey; stepsons, Randy Waldrop and Rodney Waldrop; and siblings, Dorothy, Harold, Doyle, and Shirley.

Kittrell, James Wayne “Jimmy”, age 77, of Franklin, TN, died April 1, 2020. Jimmy was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Rockwell Automation. He was always known to be very kind and generous. Jimmy was the son of the late, Raymond and Margaret Murray Kittrell.

Jones, Rex, age 97, of Hermitage, TN, died April 6, 2020. Mr. Jones was a resident of Flint, MI before moving to Tennessee in 1995. He is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Jones was the son of the late, Lloyd E. and Hazel M. Roach Jones. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Edna Jean Jones; grandson, Aaron Alles and sister, Audrey Dake.

Duncan, Carolyn Malone “Carol”, age 76, of Madison, TN, died April 7, 2020. Carol was the owner of Carol Duncan Cleaning Service. Among her customers were Phillips Builders and Beazer Homes. She enjoyed baking, cooking and sewing. Carol was the daughter of the late, James Edward and Irene Taylor Malone. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Malone.

Gatlin, Billy Joe, age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN and formerly of Morton’s Gap, KY, died April 8, 2020. Mr. Gatlin was a member of First Baptist Church of Morton’s Gap, and First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. He was very active in his church and community in Morton’s Gap before moving to Mt. Juliet. He worked most of his life as a coal miner at Peabody Coal Company’s, River Queen Mine. He was an accomplished carpenter, and he enjoyed coaching youth baseball. He was widely recognized for his compassion and tireless work for his Church, community, and others. He led the effort to build the first youth baseball field in Mortons Gap. Mr. Gatlin was the son of the late, William Junior and Mary Rose Scott Gatlin. He was also preceded in death by his step-mother Marilou Gatlin and step-brother, Lairy Nofsinger.

Bass, Robert Lee “Bob”, age 95, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died April 11, 2020. Mr. Bass was a member of Green Hill Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. Mr. Bass raised and showed Tennessee Walking Horses. He was the former owner of Tri Oak Stables in Shelbyville, TN and was a past board member of the Tennessee Colt Show Association. Mr. Bass was a farmer and a banker. He was formerly employed by 1st Tennessee Bank, Mt. Juliet Bank, and Lebanon Bank. Mr. Bass retired from Wilson Bank and Trust. He was the son of the late, Charlie and Grace Litchford Bass. Mr. Bass was also preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Lou Bass and brothers, Walter Bass and David Bass.

Ashley, Lora Fathera, age 89, of Lebanon, TN, died April 19, 2020. Mrs. Ashley was baptized in the Jordan River. She was a cosmetologist and previously owned Lora’s Beauty Shop in Mt. Juliet. Mrs. Ashley was an Atlanta Brave’s fan and enjoyed the television shows, Gold Rush and Alaska, The Last Frontier. Her favorite thing to do was to spend holidays with her family. Mrs. Ashley was the daughter of the late, Joe and Minnie Belle Allen Fathera. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne Ashley and her siblings, Ruth Powell, Lorene Bullock, Jewell West, Doris Davis and Bobby Fathera.
