Margie “Faye” James Patton (August 23, 1938 - December 28, 2025)

Faye Patton passed into her heavenly home with Jesus at the age of 87 on Sunday, December 28, 2025, surrounded by family. A native of Wilson County, Faye lived an active life in Mt. Juliet for more than 75 years. She was the first secretary for the City of Mt. Juliet in the early 1970s and retired from that position more than 25 years later in the year 2000. Faye was a devoted mother of three, a doting Nana to eight grandchildren, and a joyful great-grandmother of seven precious babies with 2 two more on the way. Rocking babies was her specialty!

Faye was preceded in death by parents ED and Eura James and brother David James. Faye met her husband Billy Patton (of Watertown) on a blind date. They were married for 56 years and there wasn’t a day she didn’t miss him after his passing in 2015.

Faye’s greatest joy is that she is survived by her children Lisa Patton Wheeler (Eric), Lora Patton Hall (Chad Barnard), & Lyle Patton (Julie). She will always be treasured as the ‘Best Nana Ever’ by her grandchildren: Madeline (Nick), Brenna & Eli (Val) Wheeler; Taylor (Aaron) Tomlinson & Tucker Hall; Aaron (Danielle) Sellars & Alex and Will Patton. She couldn’t get enough of her sweet great-grandbabies: Ryman, Ramsey, Ruby, and Tate Tomlinson; Allie, James and Natalie Sellars. Faye also leaves behind her sisters-in-law Mildred James and Loretta Patton, as well as, brother-in-law Jim Emery; the Emery nieces and nephews and the James/Ward nieces and nephews.

Faye and Billy were charter members of Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. They wanted members of our community to know Jesus who brings the ultimate joy!

Visitation will be held at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet on Friday, January 2nd from 5-7pm and from 9-10am on Saturday, January 3rd preceding a memorial service at 10am. Pallbearers are Nana’s grandsons and Merrill Weston. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Oakley Sunday School Class. Flowers accepted, or memorials may be made in honor of Faye Patton to the Oakley Sunday School Class at Victory Baptist Church.
