Carol Jean Payne, born on November 18, 1958, in Riverside, California, left us on December 12, 2025. A dedicated registered nurse, Carol cherished the opportunity to teach her fellow nurses, instilling in them the passion to save lives and excel in their profession.

Known for her witty and delightfully sarcastic demeanor, Carol's unfiltered personality made her a cherished friend and colleague. She touched countless lives not only through her nursing career but also by passionately working with youth programs like Awana. Her commitment extended to Bible study and several mission trips, enriching her life and the lives of many around her.

An avid traveler, she and her husband, Larry Payne, journeyed together through over 30 countries, creating memories that will last a lifetime. At home, her love for her three chickens added a unique charm to her vibrant life.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Larry Payne; her sister, Mari Hubert (Paul); her son, Jason Payne (Jessica); her daughter, Cary Lawson (Norvel); and her grandchildren, Justin, Michael, CJ, Skylar, and Ellie.

She joins her deceased parents, Raymond "Ray" Sutton and Geraldine "Gerry" Sutton, and her beloved grandson, Hunter Eli, in eternal peace. Carol's legacy of love, laughter, and service will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.

A celebration of life in honor of Carol will be held at a later date.
