Rebecca Anne Miller Sawyer
Rebecca Anne Miller was born on May 13, 1974, in San Francisco, California, the first child of Reginald and Trudy Miller. She grew up in San Leandro, CA, attending St. Peter Lutheran School, Dayton School, and Washington Manor School, and graduated from Arroyo High School in 1992.
Becky continued her education at Heald Business College, earning her degree before making a bold move in 1998—renting a Budget truck, towing her car, and relocating from San Leandro to Nashville, Tennessee. She was accompanied by her mom and her cat (who was not a fan of the long trip!).
In Nashville, Becky began working at Buffaloe and Associates, a law firm, and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Dominican University. Her passion for law never wavered, and in 2024, she achieved a major milestone by earning her Master of Legal Studies from Arizona State University.
At the time of her passing, Becky was working as a Paralegal for Wellpath, where she was deeply respected and loved for her dedication and excellence. She consistently went above and beyond, just as she did for everyone she cared about.
A Life Full of Love and Joy
Becky didn’t know a stranger. She was kind, generous, and loved people the moment she met them. Always checking in on friends and family, she had a smile as big as her heart and never hesitated to help—no favor was too big or too small.
She married the love of her life, Michael Sawyer, on October 11, 2025, and together they shared countless happy moments—playing with their cat Josi, shopping, and spending time with friends. Becky adored Christmas, decorating as soon as Halloween ended, and she loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with those closest to her.
Her happiest times were spent with loved ones, watching Michigan football or Predators hockey, sharing funny reels on social media, and listening to Taylor Swift.
Family and Legacy
Becky is survived by her husband Michael Sawyer, son Robert Cayler II, daughter Stefani Gutierrez, grandchildren Samuel & Deborah Sundberg, best friend sister Jessica Diedtrich, niece Brynleigh, mother Trudy Miller, brothers David Miller and Jonathan Miller, sister-in-law Jocelyn Blore, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends
She was preceded in death by her father Reginald Miller, aunts Liz Schultz and Kate Miller, uncle Bill Miller, and grandparents Eugene & Violet Schultz and Harley & Jeanne Miller.
Becky’s heart and beautiful spirit will live on through everyone who loved her.
