Krick, Annie Ezma, age 97, of Lebanon, TN, and formerly of Dayton, OH, died May 7, 2021. Mrs. Krick was born in Lafayette, TN and was the daughter of the late, Clarence Sellie Walton and Effie A. Dyer Walton. She was married to Herclus “Jack” Jamison for 20 years. After his death, she married Albert Krick who also preceded her in death. Mrs. Krick was preceded in death by her brothers, Phillip Sellie Walton, Morgan Dyer Walton and Joe Randall Walton and her sisters, Esble Irene Harper, Mary Olene Alvey and Edith Valene Hubbard.

She is survived by:

Brother – Tommy Clarence (Donna) Walton

Sisters – Bonnie Mitchell and Jeanette Connell

Step-children – Tom Krick, Ron Krick and Kathy Ward

Several step-grandchildren and Step-great grandchildren

Numerous nieces and nephews

Barnett, Kenneth Ray, age 53, of Nashville, TN, died May 5, 2021. Kenneth was born in Pennington Gap, VA and grew up in Harlan, KY until moving to Nashville, TN in 1987. Kenneth was an exceptional father, son, brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him. He was a proud dad and even prouder papa. Ken could always make you smile, laugh and see the positive in everything. He was an exceptional worker, a Jack of all Trades and was willing to help anyone at any time. Ken loved his Tennessee Titans, NASCAR racing and fishing. However, his true hobby and passion was anytime he was on his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He thoroughly enjoyed weekends when he and Darrel were figuring out where their next ride was. He loved telling stories about his rides with Darrel, Linda, Eric, Amy, Rob, Heather and his friends from work. Kenneth will be loved and forever missed by so many. We know he is with his precious mama and papa right now. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Verlin Roberts and his grandparents, Hobart and Ethel Barnett.

He is survived by:

Sister and Brother-in-law - Linda and Darrel Jones

Darnell, Bobby Cummings, age 80, died May 9, 2021 at NHC Columbia surrounded by family and wonderful staff. Mr. Darnell was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and the National Guard. He served 7 years, 9 months and 20 days and obtained the rank of First Lieutenant. He was the son of the late, William Clifford Darnell and Mazelle Cummings Darnell.

He is survived by:

Daughters – Sonya Darnell (Mark) Kopp, Pamper Darnell (Bobby) Foster and

                  Mary “Ginny” Darnell (Jon) Hall

Step-children – Adam Smith, Brigid Smith and Abigail Smith Brizzolara

Frizzell, Mary L., age 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 13, 2021. Mrs. Frizzell was born in Gainesboro, TN and was the daughter of the late, Henry Martin and Eva Mae Hensley Martin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John William Frizzell, Sr.

Barrett, Eva Joyce, age 79, of Old Hickory, TN, and formerly of Columbia, TN, died May 15, 2021. Joyce was born in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late, Isaiah C. and Eva Mae Bohanan. While living in Columbia, Joyce worked for Weather Tamer and was a relator for many years. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and crafting, and more recently she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching wildlife. Joyce was also preceded in death by her brothers, William C. Bohanan and James W. Bohanan; sister, Linda R. Bohanan Wiser and beloved sister-in-law, Janet Bohanan

She is survived by:

Children – Ginger (Amy Snead) Barrett, Gregory (Lizet) Barrett and

               Steven Barrett

Brothers – David L. Bohanan and George E. Bohanan

Owen, William S., age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 17, 2021. Billy was born in Petersburg, TN and was the son of the late, Willie B. Owen and Ida Lou Wright Owen. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Billy was the owner of Owen Snow and Ice Removal. He enjoyed listening to and playing Bluegrass music. Billy was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Romines.

He is survived by:

Wife of 49 years – Barbara Owen

Daughters – Theresa Jackson and Mandy Orr

Sons – Shane Owen and Michael Owen

Taylor, Jr., Edward Shane “TJ”, age 18, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 20, 2021. TJ was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. He attended Rutland Elementary School, West Wilson Middle School and was scheduled to graduate from Wilson Central High School on May 29, 2021. TJ was a member of Cub Scout Troop #753 and Boy Scout Troop #341 and had recently achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He enjoyed working at Four Corner Boat Dock, hunting, fishing and frog gigging. TJ was preceded in death by his grandfather, William “Bill” Taylor and great-fathers, WL Barlow and Bill Woehler.

 

He is survived by:

Parents – Shane and Danielle Taylor

Sisters – Emily Taylor and Drew Taylor

Brother – Liam Taylor

Grandparents – Randy and Amy Baker and Sharon Taylor

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, May 24, 2021 at Providence United Methodist Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Jacob Armstrong officiating. Interment will follow at Nolensville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Hayden Schreeder, Noah Mathis, Jackson Pollard, Kolbe Walling, Mac Spradley, Sammy Jones, Dawson Gnewiko and Beck Phelan. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Boy Scout Troop #341 and friends from Wilson Central High School.

 

For those who desire, a financial contribution can be made toward the funeral expenses in lieu of flowers or memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop #341 in memory of TJ.

 

Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Monday at the church.

Jarratt, Eleanor F., age 92, of Nashville, TN, died May 20, 2021. Mrs. Jarratt was born in Clarksville, TN and was the daughter of the late, Jacob Ramey Foust and Alice Warfield Foust. She was a member of Crievewood United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jarratt was an avid “stitcher” of both cross stritching and needlepoint. She belonged to The American Needlepoint Guild. Mrs. Jarratt was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Albert Sidney Jarratt, Sr. and her son-in-law, Clyde Simpson.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Chris Simpson

Family and friends will gather for a Graveside service at 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1324 Gholson Rd., Clarksville, TN. Pastor Chelsey Hedglin will officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Tate, Linda Gayle, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 21, 2021. Mrs. Tate was born in Ft. Knox, KY and was the daughter of the late, Oby and Ava Sheffield. She was a member of Hickory Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Tate was employed by Piper and AVCO but her favorite job by far was at the Langford Farms Daycare. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and crafting. Mrs. Tate loved butterflies and hummingbirds. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ginger Frye.

She is survived by:

Husband – Thomas “Tom” Tate

Children – David (Cecilia) Blake, Karen (Greg) Holbert and

               Allen (Letitia) Blake

Sisters – Cindy Dulin and Diane Sheffield

Grandchildren – Chasity Cherry, David Blake, Jr., Derrick Blake,

Reed, Guy Robert, age 57, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away May 21, 2021.
Guy was a member of Green Hill Church and an employee of Dollar General
Corporation. He was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and a graduate
of Tennessee Technological University. Guy loved listening to music, watching
sports and enjoying nature. He also loved watching documentaries of all kinds
and had an insatiable appetite for learning.
He is survived by:

Stryker, Sara Frances, age 94, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away May 23, 2021. Mrs. Stryker was born in Old Hickory, TN and was the daughter of the late, James and Lillie Bell Brothers Jacobs. She was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church and worked as a dietician for many years. Mrs. Stryker volunteered at McKendree Manor, the New Widows and Widowers Group, the Methodist Women’s Group, AARP and for many other organizations and charities. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wes Stryker and great-great grandchildren, Abbie Marie Lyles and Colton Suire.

She is survived by:

Grandchildren – Travis Smiley and Susan (Larry) White

Great-grandchildren – Shyanne White and Kimberly (Dakota Suire) White

Jean-Rene, Scherline Prosper, age 43 of Old Hickory, TN died May 8, 2021.  Scherline was born in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti and came to America at the age of 10. With the ambition to help herself, she excelled in different roles from basketball, volleyball, cosmetology, wife, mother and friend. Scherline worked hard and always gave everything 110% while battling Sickle Cell. From a young age, to her final days, you could always find Scherline with her mother in the kitchen reminiscing about old times. Regardless of what she was going through, she still held her head high and overcame her situation with a smile on her face. She will be truly missed and remain forever in our hearts. Scherline was preceded by her father, Jean Prosper; sister, Myrflene Bazne and daughter, Joseline Boiteux.

She is survived: 

Sons - Jesee, Jozjuan and Jaycob 

Husband - Joubert Jean-Rene

Mother - Jocelyne Lestor

Siblings - Mackenzie, Jean, Joanne, Jessica and Sara Prosper

Richey, Ella Frances, age 94, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 26, 2021. Mrs. Richey was born in Cullowhee, NC and was the daughter of the late, Edward D’Mont and Sara Ethyl Hooper. She served as administrator for the Indianapolis Public School System and was instrumental in spearheading the Dial-A-Teacher Program for the Indianapolis area. Mrs. Richey enjoyed working with stained glass, porcelain doll making, photography and gardening. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul John Richey; son, Paul Daniel Richey and brother, Harrell Edward Hooper.

She is survived by:

Grandchildren – Paul Jeremy Richey, Daniel Justin Richey and

                       Tasa Lynn Frazier

Great-grandchildren – Issiah Hellings and Hayley Richey

Sturgis, Sandra Joan, age 74, of Hermitage, TN, died May 25, 2021. Mrs. Sturgis was born in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late, Lawrence T. and Irene Brewer Daniel. She was a graduate of Issac Litton High School and the University of Tennessee. She was a member of the Hermitage Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses and volunteered her time as a Bible study instructor. She retired as Medicaid Director and Assistant Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Health. Mrs. Sturgis enjoyed knitting, traveling, especially to Europe and New York, fine dining, classical music, ballet and “Broadway” concerts, museums and collecting seals. She loved her dogs, Borghese and Chloe. Mrs. Sturgis was also preceded in death by her only sibling, a sister, Denise Daniel.

She is survived by:

Husband and best friend of 36 years – Vernon Hayward Sturgis

Sisters-in-law – Cheryl Sturgis Weeks and Laurel Bethea (Patrick) Folmar

Nieces and nephews – Yvonne Renee Sturgis, Sean Alexander Sturgis,

                                Brenda McClain, Tyler Reginald (Sydney) Sturgis, and

                                Khoury Dewitt Sturgis

A virtual funeral service will be held Sunday, June 20, 2021. At 2:45PM Central Standard Time (CST), a video slideshow of Sandra’s life will be featured and at 3:00PM CST the memorial service will begin.
