Douglas MacArthur Turner

Douglas MacArthur Turner, age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. He was born on May 15, 1943, in McMinnville, Tennessee, to the late Arthur and Laura Turner. Douglas retired from Kroger after 35 years of faithful service. He was a devoted member of Living Springs Baptist Church, and he took great pride in being a member of the Mt. Juliet Masonic Lodge #642.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Laura Turner; sister, Novalyn Cathleen “Sissy” Batchelor of McMinnville, TN, and brother, Bobby High Turner of Mayfield, Kentucky.

Daughter – Amanda DeNette Gilland and her husband Joe of Murfreesboro, TN

Grandchildren – Kelsey Brooke Burke and her husband Tyler Burke, Taylor Deann Abbott and her husband Ellis Abbott, Bailee Nicole Turner, Emma Grace Gilland, and Madison Ann Gilland.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel, conducted by Bro. Terry Wilkerson and Special Friend, Jimmy Lynch. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery in McMinnville, TN. Pallbearers will be Matt Claiborne, Mike Claiborne, Troy Hurt, Jimmy Lynch, and Jack Wheeler. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doyle Clark, Albert Sweeton, and Harmon Koon. Visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.
