Charles Mason

Charles R. Mason, age 88, of Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2026. He was born in Bridgeport, Alabama to Charles Russell Mason and Lucille Helton Mason. Charles was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle who was devoted to his family, faith, and community. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army and later gave his time as a Boy Scout leader while his sons were active in scouting.

Charles was a proud Mason and a dedicated 50-year member of Mt. Juliet Lodge No. 642. He was also a faithful member and deacon of Victory Baptist Church, where he served with a willing heart.

He loved spending time outdoors and enjoyed fishing, golfing, snow skiing, water skiing, and many other outdoor adventures. Even at the age of 79, Charles embraced life with enthusiasm by going skydiving. He will be remembered for his kindness, his faith, his love for his family, and the example he set for those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Mason; brother, James Mason and a sister, Wanda Willis.

He is survived by:

Wife of 68 years – Anna Mason

Sons – Michael (Diana) Mason and Mark (Gara) Mason

Brother – Hugh (Sonja) Mason

Grandchildren- Anna Michelle (Zach) Thompson, Kristen (Bryce) Moody, Jonathan Mason, and Stephen Mason

Great-Grandchildren – Jordan Thompson, Henley Thompson, Andi Rose Thompson, Mason Moody, Will Moody, and Charli Ann Moody.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday August 6, 2026, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Zach Thompson, Bryce Moody, Jonathan Mason, Stephen Mason, Rusty Mason, David Mason, and David Davis.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service conducted at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held on Thursday one hour prior to the service at Bond Memorial Chapel, 1098 Weston Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN. (615) 773-2663, www.bondmemorial.com
