Ronald L. Satterfield, age 79, of Old Hickory, TN, passed away into the loving arms of our precious Heavenly Father on Friday, July 17, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. Ron was born on January 9th, 1947, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Edgar Allen Satterfield and Eunice Williams Satterfield. Ron was a loving father to his children Allen and Miranda, a loving Papa Ron to his granddaughter Jenna and a loving Paw Paw to his four-legged grandchildren. A veteran of the United States Navy, Ron was a proud patriot of our country. Ron spent his time giving back to others anytime he could. Ron was an organ donor and through his passing, saved many lives with his selflessness.

A lifelong Braves fan and curator of collectibles, known most notably for his impeccable collection of lanterns and cast iron. Ron had a passion to live life to the fullest each day. Ron enjoyed camping, spending time on the water and keeping the campfire going. He spent as much time outdoors as he could, always finding something to piddle with.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Eunice Satterfield and a brother, William Robert “Bobby” Satterfield.

He is survived by:

Brother – Edgar Allen Satterfield, Jr.

Daughter – Miranda (Jonathan) Ferrer

Son – Allen Satterfield

Grandchildren – Jenna Satterfield and Devon McMillan

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be sent to an animal welfare organization of your choice in Ron’s memory, as Ron was an active animal welfare advocate of multiple local and national organizations, specifically supporting organizations that benefit the pitbull breed. If you are looking for an organization to support, his daughter, Miranda, operates TNR Queens, a local organization that focuses on feline welfare.

A celebration of life will be planned for August 8th, 2026 at the family’s home in Old Hickory, TN. Further details to come directly from the family.
