Buchanan, Douglas Bruce, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 2, 2020.
Doug was a member of Hermitage Church of the Nazarene and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a baker for 43 years and also worked in maintenance at Trevecca Towers. Doug was the son of the late, Norman and Gertrude Rench Buchanan.

Turman, Bobby Leroy, age 77, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 8, 2020. Bobby served in the National Guard, Signal Battalion Corp, Sheffield, AL. He retired from Pascall Truck Lines. Bobby was an avid Alabama football fan. During his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and bowling. In his later years, he enjoyed playing computer games. Bobby was the son of the late, John Matthew and Maggie Kathleen Pitts Turman. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Belcher, Jane Camilla Neil, age 81, of Lebanon, TN, died October 11, 2020. Jane was a native of Moreland, GA and attended Howard High School. She was employed as an insurance estimator for Safeco for over 20 years. Jane enjoyed traveling, gardening and antiquing. She was the daughter of the late, John Travis Neil and Opal Edna Smith Neil Owen. Jane was also preceded in death by her son, Tyree Belcher and her brother, Ralph (Mary Ann) Neil.

Sowers, Timothy Joshua “Josh”, 36, of Antioch, Tennessee passed 9:20 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
Josh was born May 11, 1984 in Nashville, Tennessee, the son of Ernest Edwin Sowers and Darlett Kay (Atkinson) Sowers.
Also surviving are a sister, Esther Ruth (Kyle) Cancasci, brother, Ernest Seth (Roxi) Sowers, grandmother, Ellen Atkinson, three uncles, Deven (Doris) Atkinson, Rick (Debbie) Congrove, and Tim (Lin) Sowers, two aunts, Cindy (John) Finley and Mel Chinn, cousins, Justin (Alex Johns) Atkinson, Chris (Pam) Atkinson, Derek (Bri) Atkinson, Shane Congrove, Tyler (Kendi) Congrove, Caleb Congrove, Shannon (Bob) Fletcher, Regan Sowers, Cheyenne (Kennedy) Sowers, Amy (Jeremy) Skaggs, Jodi (Shawn) Dillie, Andy (Brittany) Finley, Nathan (Rosey) Pettit, Justin (Teresa) Pettit, Brandon Chinn, niece and nephews, Luna Cancasci, Sean Cancasci, Alex Cancasci, Carsie Sowers and Gabe Sowers.

Josh was a 2003 graduate of Nashville School of the Arts, and a member of West Meade Fellowship in Nashville. He was a loyal and dedicated employee at the same Taco Bell for 16 years. He was an avid connoisseur of superhero movies, comic books and action figures. Josh was a big supporter of the American Red Cross, donating 7.5 gallons of blood to the Nashville Red Cross. He was an organ donor of 8+ viable gifts, he left behind for those who needed them the most.
Funeral services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Mt. View Baptist Church, 12545 Old Hickory Blvd., Antioch, Tennessee 37013 with Dr. David Outlaw officiating. The family will receive friends 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15 2020 at the Mt. View Baptist Church, Antioch, Tennessee.
There will also be funeral service 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2020 at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Dr. David Outlaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Seldom Scene Cemetery, Waverly, Ohio. The family will receive friends 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio.

Coleman, Herman Mark, age 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 15, 2020.
Mr. Coleman was a member and former Elder at Center Chapel Church of Christ and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He had a career in playing country music, as a radio announcer and ultimately retired from Ford Glass Plant. Mr. Coleman was a gunsmith and enjoyed collecting antique guns and Civil War memorabilia. He was a member of the Mt. Juliet/West Wilson Historical Society. Mr. Coleman was the son of the late, Lee Alexander and Virgie Hayes Coleman. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Lee A. Coleman, Jr. and his half-sisters, Betty Shores and Margaret Petry.

Banks, Anita Bell Glover, age 92, passed away on October 19, 2020 in the loving care of the staff of Quality Center for Rehab and Healing in Lebanon, TN. She was born in Cowan, Tennessee on March 26, 1928 to the late Estill Allen Bell and Annie Finney Bell. Anita graduated from Knoxville High School, Knoxville, TN, in 1946 and from the University of Tennessee in 1950.
Anita was a longtime resident of Bristol, TN, moving there in 1960. Anita touched the lives of many students during her teaching career at Bluff City High, Junior High, and Middle Schools and Sullivan North High School. After retirement, she remained active through her volunteer work for Addilynn Memorial United Methodist Church, Meals on Wheels of Bristol and Sullivan County Retired Teachers. She loved her books, often reading a book a day, even in her later years. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching her beloved Tennessee Volunteers teams as they played football and basketball.
Anita is survived by two daughters: Ruth Glover Fuqua and her husband, Bill, of Mount Juliet, TN; Marty Glover Acevedo and her husband, Ace, and their children, Dallas and Malorie, and their grandson, Riley all of Oceanside, CA; and son, Jeff Glover and his wife, Malia, of Sparks, NV, and their children, Jeffrey Glover and Jamie Bartzi and her husband, Jacob, of Antioch, CA; and brother, William Bell and his wife, Ann of Carriere, Mississippi. Anita is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Banks of Bristol, TN; brother, Captain Gordon Bell of Albuquerque, NM; and former husband, George Glover of Knoxville, TN.

Daniele, Gennaro Giovanni Andre, age 29, of Hermitage, TN, died October 17, 2020. Gennaro was a husband, father, son, brother, brother-in-law and friend. He was a producer in the music industry who had worked with several artists. Known as G-Stylez, he was a true musician, an entrepreneur and a well-respected businessman. He was self-motivated and talented. Gennaro loved working with his hands, continuously learning, boxing and playing basketball. He enjoyed playing video games with his children and loved hearing his daughter sing. Gennaro was a caregiver, a lover of people and would help anyone. He was fearless, lived life to the fullest and always went after what he wanted. Gennaro was a beautiful man with a heart of gold. He impacted everyone he knew. He had so much more to do and was tragically taken way too soon. Gennaro will always live on through his children and his music. Legends don’t die.

Cooper, Elizabeth List, age 78, of Mt. Juliet, TN and formerly of Chattanooga, TN died October 24, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. She was beloved by her family, friends and many former students. Elizabeth was born on August 12, 1942 in Knoxville, TN. She was the daughter of the late, Cornelius Hickman List and Martha Walker List. She grew up moving frequently due to her Father’s employment with TVA but ultimately settled in Chattanooga, TN during her junior year of high school. She was a 1960 graduate of Chattanooga City High School then attended the University of Chattanooga where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In 1975, she earned her Masters of Education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
She first met her late husband, George M. Cooper, Jr., in Chattanooga where both were members of Central Presbyterian Church. It would be a later, chance meeting in the college Register’s Office that started what would result in their 55 year-long marriage. Elizabeth was a long-term elementary educator for the Chattanooga City Schools. Her finest career accomplishment was establishing and running computer labs in several schools prior to her retirement. After, retirement she followed her passion and opened an antiques store, Cooper’s Antiques. Once she had grandchildren, her passion was for them and she and George relocated to Mt. Juliet, TN.

Sheppard, Charles Ray “Chuck”, age 50, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died October 23, 2020. Chuck was a graduate of McGavock High School and attended Tennessee State University. He was employed as a machinist at Cumberland Machine for 23 years. Chuck earned a Black Belt in karate and was a certified scuba and rescue diver. He enjoyed boating, riding motorcycles, and deep sea fishing. Chuck was the son of the late, George Washington and Kathenia Mae Conner Sheppard. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Lee Sheppard and his brother, George William “Skipper” Conner.
