Head, Ronald.jpg

Head, Ronald Eugene, age 79, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on March 19, 2023. Ronnie was born October 19, 1943, at home in Walton County, Monroe, Georgia.  He was raised in rural Fulton County Georgia by two God Fearing but proud parents.  He and his siblings didn’t have a lot and wondered what a “water closet” was but they were taught to respect others, treat them as you would like to be treated and strive to be a person of integrity.  He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of fifteen but didn’t really live Christ like until he met Nancy, the love of his life in 1971.  After their marriage in 1972, Nancy worked tirelessly teaching him how to walk to Christ.  Now Ronnie has comfort in knowing his four children have accepted Jesus as well. Ron graduated from Campbell High School, Fairburn Georgia in 1961.  In 1965 he received a special greeting from President Lyndon B. Johnson asking him to join the United States Army.  Ron proudly served in the Army Aviation as aircraft mechanic and crew chief in Fort Rucker Alabama, Godman AAF Fort Knox Kentucky and Cu Chi, Republic of Vietnam where he was twice awarded The Air Medal for participating in more than fifty aerial missions over hostile territory. Ronald was a member of Victory Baptist Church, Mount Juliet, Tennessee.  He was veteran of the U.S. Army, a lifetime member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and a member of Tyler Cates American Legion Post #281; also, the fraternal organization of Masonic Mason and Scottish Rite Mason. Ron’s greatest achievement? Finding and marrying the Love of His Life, Nancy! His most memorable moments? Holding his (each) newborn child for the first time. His greatest desire?  To know each of his family members know and walk with Jesus Christ. Favorite verse: “let brotherly love continue.  Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by doing, some have unwittingly entertained angels.”  Hebrews 13: 1-2 He was preceded in death by parents, Joel W. and Cora Mae (Harper) Head; siblings, Kenneth Head and Brenda Mae Head Fronebarger.
