Harold Harper Hackett, a beloved figure in our community, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on January 20, 1935, in Smith County, Tennessee.
Harold was a lifelong member of LaGuardia Baptist Church, where he found joy and friendship through his faith. After completing his education at Lebanon High School, he dedicated his life to serving both his country and his community. From 1958 to 1960, he proudly served in the U.S. Army, a period he looked back on with pride. In 1997, Harold retired from Overnight Transportation after a long and fulfilling career. His work ethic and dedication were well-known to his colleagues and friends.
In his free time, Harold enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for hunting and fishing, which allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors. He was also fond of playing cards, where many cherished memories were made with family and friends. Every morning, he could be found at Hardee's, enjoying breakfast and sharing stories with those who gathered there.
Harold leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and community spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His simple yet fulfilling life will be remembered fondly by friends and members of his church.

Children - Wayne (Belinda) Hackett, Jeff (Sherry) Hackett, Kim (Kevin) Kolff
Grandchildren - Bailey and Brady Kolff, Amber (Justin) McKee, Jessica Hackett, Meghann (Michael) Moran, Christy Hammonds, Leslie Strum, Ryan Kennedy
Great Grandchildren - Josh, Jordan, Jasmine, Colton, Grace, and Emma
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus "Buck" and Mary Hackett.
A funeral service for Harold will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Bond Memorial Chapel, conducted by Johnathan Jennings, with interment to follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. The family will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 13th, 2026.
