Larry Allen Taylor, born on August 1, 1950, in Ogden, UT, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Hermitage, TN. He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in business, which laid the foundation for a diverse and fulfilling career.
In 1966, Larry met the love of his life, Edwina Fitzhugh, on a blind date, and they married in 1969. His career began at J.C. Penney and later at Firestone before he fulfilled his dream of opening his own hobby shop, "Planes N Things," in Oxford, AL. In 1992, Larry and his family moved to Nashville, where he transitioned to a career in construction, ultimately retiring from Turnberry Homes in 2016.
Larry was known for his passion for remote control cars and planes, woodworking, and boating. He also enjoyed deep sea fishing. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He cherished the memories made while traveling with Edwina and spending time with his best friends and cousins, Gordon and Saundra Crabb.
Larry is survived by:
Wife - of 56 years, Edwina “Eddie” Taylor
Children - Eric (Daniela) Taylor and Kari (Kai) Greer
Grandchildren - Katherine and Isabelle Taylor
Sister - Debbie Dillehay
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Opal Taylor, as well as his brother, Gary Taylor.
Larry’s warmth and love will be missed by his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Visitation to celebrate Larry's life will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m until 3:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel.
