Goodwin, Tina Joy Childers, age 58, of Mt. Juliet, TN died June 7, 2023. Tina was born in Oklahoma City, OK. She was a 1982 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Tina is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Frances “Sissy” Preston Hurt; step-father, Adam Hurt and infant son, Jarrett Goodwin.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Allison Goodwin

Father – Cloyd “Sunny” (Glenette) Childers

Siblings – Patty Childers Jones, Joel (Julie) Childers, Bryan (Maria) Childers and Shawn Childers

Many nieces, nephews and friends

 

Family and friends will gather from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Bond Memorial Chapel to Celebrate Tina’s Life.

Miller, Gloria Lorraine Dunlop, age 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN died June 10, 2023. Gloria was born in Greensburg, PA and was the daughter of the late, Robert Dunlop and Mary Bell Dunlop. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Millerand brother, Ron Dunlop.

She is survived by:

Children – Cathleen (Steve) Humphries, Diana Hendricks, Charlie (Lisa) Miller,

               Gloria “Ginger” (Jeff) Seeley and Jeffrey Miller

Siblings – Bobby Dunlop, Tim Dunlop and Loretta Licata

Carlson, Philip.png

Carlson, Philip Ryan, age 37, of Mount Juliet, TN died June 15, 2023. Philip was born in Nashville, TN and was a member of Nashville First Church of the Nazarene. He was a Property Minister for Men of Valor Prison Ministry. Philip was pursuing higher education, first in I.T. where he was exceeding his own expectations. Led by the Lord, Philip then decided to change his career and educational pursuits to full-time ministry, following in his father’s footsteps by attending Trevecca and focusing on expanding God’s Kingdom through a career at Men of Valor.

 

Philip enjoyed riding motorcycles, pursuing gains in the gym, skydiving, loving on his niece and nephew and all children, caring for animals, and enjoying all things sports, especially Titans football.

 

Philip was preceded in death by his father, Carl Carlson, and his grandfathers, Vernon Brown and Terry Acker.

 

He is survived by:

Mother – Karen Carlson

Brothers – David Joshua (Janna) Carlson, Michael Jeffrey (Michelle-lee) Carlson

               and Stephen Mark Carlson

Grandmother – Frances Brown Acker

Uncles – Michael “Micky” Brown and Jeff Brown

Niece – Jayce Carlson

Nephews – Daniel Carlson and Philip Jacob Carlson (due in October 2023)

 

Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN. The service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Ulmet officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

 

Active pallbearers will be Josh Carlson, Michael Carlson, Stephen Carlson, Michael “Micky” Brown, Mark Hodge, and Tyler Duke. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of Valor Staff.

 

The family prefers that memorials be made to Men of Valor, 504 Valor Way, Antioch, TN 37013.

Elliott, Gregory Lee, age 63, of Mt. Juliet, TN died June 20, 2023. Gregory was born in Nashville, TN. He was a 1977 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. In his spare time Greg was an avid pool player, enjoyed gardening and spending time with his beloved fur companion, Freya. Greg is preceded in death by his grandparents, James W. Elliott, Aileen Nickens and John and Lucille Hatcher.

Colter, Shirley Maxine, age 85, of Ashland City, TN died June 26, 2023. Shirley was born in Nashville, TN and was the daughter of the late, Robert Whitaker and Evie Armstrong Whitaker. She enjoyed gardening and word search puzzles. Shirley was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Lee Colter; daughter, Pamela Jean Colter; granddaughter, Kisha Brown and 4 siblings.

Baltz, Jean Marie “Jeana” Nolan, age 61, entered into eternal life in heaven on June 25, 2023.  Born February 12, 1962, Jeana was the youngest daughter and child of the late Patrick J. Nolan, Jr. and Ann Thoni Nolan.  As the baby of the family of 6, Jeana rarely wanted for anything and was constantly cared for by her siblings. 

 

Jeana attended Saint Bernard Academy for all 12 years of her schooling and graduated from Saint Bernard Academy High School in 1980.  Her work career included Milam’s Optical Service, Deloitte, and 17 years with Metro Nashville’s Human Resources Department, overseeing the applicant tracking system.

 

Jeana is preceded in death by her brother Tony Nolan and brother-in-law Gary Batson.  She is survived by her two children, Joseph (Jill Myers) Baltz and Jenny Baltz.  Jeana was an amazing grandmother and fondly known as Gigi to her three grandchildren: Nora, Jackson, and McKay Baltz, who were her whole world.  Jeana is also survived by her siblings Pat (Betty Lee) Nolan, Bill (Nancy) Nolan, JoAnn Batson and Mary (Don) Muller along with many other nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins. 

 

Jeana received a single lung transplant in July 2019. She fought a courageous battle alongside family and an incredible team of caregivers. Jeana’s family would like to thank Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro for their exceptional care in the recent months.

 

Visitation with the family will be at the Fleming Center of the Cathedral of the Incarnation on West End Avenue; date to be announced in the near future. Additionally, a Mass of the Resurrection for Jeana will take place at the Cathedral, with date forthcoming.

Barnhart, Jarad Kale, age 30, of Mt. Juliet, TN went home to be with our Lord on June 29, 2023. Jarad was born in Ada, Oklahoma. He was a 2012 graduate of Heritage Christian Academy and also graduated in 2015 as Salutatorian from NADC/Lincoln College of Technology. Jarad enjoyed camping, hiking, waterfalls, music and playing guitar, but he especially loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Johnny Barnhart, Sr. and Patricia Barnhart and his maternal grandfather, Clois King.

He is survived by:
