Knowles, Wilma Mae , age 94, of Columbia, TN, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Wilma was born in Clay City, Illinois and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl Stanford. She was a devoted member of the Clay City United Methodist Church. She had an adventurous spirit and a deep love for travel, always creating memories along the way. An avid Barbie doll collector, she at one time was an active member of the Music City Barbie Club where she shared her enthusiasm with other collectors. Known for her strength and intelligence, Wilma embraced life fully, living for over 20 years after the passing of her beloved husband. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt and her warmth, kindness, and zest for life will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Knowles and her four sisters, Hazel Hutchison, Doris Evans, Ada Fern Kidwell, and Kathryn Harrison.

She is survived by:

Son – John (Mary) Knowles

Daughter – Cathy (Chris) Coffie

Grandchildren – Glen Knowles, Hillary (Ben) McClure, Adam (Madison Parsons) Knowles, Meredith Coffie, and Ian Coffie

Great Grandchildren – Cambria Tapia and Asher Tapia

Several nieces and nephews

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at the  Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Adam Knowles, Ben McClure, Ian Coffie, Tim Evans, Jeff Harrison, and Chris Coffie. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
