Williamson, Wayne , age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN passed away on July 12, 2024. Wayne was born to Floyd and Deane Williamson in Nashville, Arkansas. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. He and his father even built a pontoon boat together so their family could spend more time together in the outdoors.

After high school, Wayne attended Harding College where he majored in Business Administration. While at Harding, Wayne met the love of his life Betty. Following graduation, he moved to Nashville, TN where he began working for Firestone. Wayne began in a retail store and then moved to Accounting and Risk Management where he spent the rest of his career working for Bridgestone/Firestone.

Faith in Jesus was important to Wayne’s life. Wayne and his wife Betty are devout Christians and members of the Mt. Juliet church of Christ. Throughout their marriage, they lived in Nashville, TN, Myrtle Beach, SC, Columbia, TN, Brunswick, OH, and Mt Juliet, TN. In each of these places, Wayne has been an active servant of God. Wayne has served in jail ministry and disaster relief, he has also served as a song leader, Sunday school teacher, Deacon, and an Elder. Wayne has always sought to make a difference in the kingdom of God, and he did make a difference.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 55 years Betty Williamson; his children Deana (Chris) Driver and Mark (Melissa)Williamson; and four grandchildren, Gabrielle and Michael Driver and Ellen and John Williamson.

Funeral Services for Wayne Williamson will be held 12 noon Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in the Mt. Juliet church of Christ building with Tim Martin and Craig Evans officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Bond Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort, Inc., 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211-3304.
