Mullins, Thomas Eugene “Tommy” , age 84, of Mt. Juliet, TN died December 4, 2023. Tommy was born in Nashville, TN and was the son of the late, Frank Thomas and Annie Mullins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Frank “Pete” Davis Mullins, Howard Mullins, and Larry Mullins; and a sister, Darlene Trent.
Tommy Mullins was married to his forever sweetheart, Lucille, since June 6, 1959. Tommy graduated from Donelson High School in 1957. He played on the football team as a tackle and he was on the track team. He worked in the printing industry at E.T. Lowe in Nashville, at the Rock Hill Herald in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and at United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville. He retired in 2000. Tommy loved to travel, a trait he inherited from his father Frank Mullins, who had been a hobo riding the trains during the Depression. Tommy and Lucille traveled to 42 states and to Canada. They loved going to North Myrtle Beach and instilled that love of the beach in all of their descendants. He loved music and led congregational singing at Vine Church of Christ for over 50 years. Tommy enjoyed woodworking and designed walking canes that looked like handsaws. Tommy never met a stranger. He would help anyone and would drive many elderly people to church. Tommy loved being with his family most. He was blessed with 2 daughters, 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren who lovingly called him Gramps. He will be missed by many.
