Hager, Thomas Earl “Ya Ya” , age 72, of Hermitage, TN, died October 22, 2019. Tom was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and a retired employee of KGS Steel. He was a 1965 graduate of Dupont High School. Tom was a 33rd Scottish Rite Mason and Past Master of Old Hickory Lodge #598. In 1994, he was Worshipful Grand Master of Free and Accepted Masons in Tennessee and since 1998 was serving as the Grand Treasurer of the Grand Lodge. He was Past Captain of Al Menah Shrine Drum & Bugle Corp. Over the years, Tom belonged to many Masonic bodies. He was given many honors but always believed that “it was the inner soul that made the man”.  He was a strong leader, devoted husband, father and grandfather. Tom was the son of the late, James Earl Hager and Fannie Mai “Lula” Hager Coleman.

He is survived by:

Wife of 53 years – Bobbye Gewin Hager

Children – Rob Hager, Mika (Mike) Cashion and Ryan (Courts) Hager

Brothers – Jerry (Helen) Hager and Randy Hager

Grandchildren – Rylan, Hite, and Woodson Hager and

Lofton and Jack Cashion

Aunt – Willie Belle Avery

Sister-in-law – Jimmie (Kenny) Bradley

Brother-in-law – Bill Tabor

Many cousins, nieces and nephews

Devoted companion – English Bulldog “Mook”

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019 at New Hope Baptist Church, 6010 S. New Hope Road, Hermitage, TN with Rev. Ron Patterson officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Hall, David Frye, James Malone, Wes Stephens, Rien Long, and Chris Adamski. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Belcher, Laddie Wilson, Daniel Mata, Danny Wyatt, Darren Jernigan, Johnathan Tuschl, Mark Patterson, KGS employees, lifelong Masonic family and a close circle of many friends.

The family also wishes to thank his care-team for helping him keep a positive attitude and a smile on his face.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Masonic Widows’ and Orphans’ Home of Tennessee Fund, 100 7th Avenue North, Suite 4, Nashville, TN 37203 or the Shrine Hospitals for Children.

Visitation will be 4-7:30 p.m. Friday at Bond Memorial Chapel ending with a Masonic service (open to the public) at 7:30 p.m. and visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday at New Hope Baptist Church.
