Sudie Cynthia Shaw Hillis

Hillis, Sudie Cynthia Shaw , age 87, of Mt. Juliet, TN died December 3, 2022. Sudie was born in Louisville, KY and was the daughter of the late, Silas Shaw and Edna Johnston Shaw. She was a devoted member of Center Chapel Church of Christ for over 50 years and a member of the Ladies Bible Study class. Sudie was a homemaker for most of her lifetime but she also was a substitute teacher in the Mt. Juliet schools. She enjoyed crocheting, loved her Dachshunds and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Sudie was faithful to send cards and visit the sick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rapheal Victor Hillis; son, Rickie Mason Hillis and sister, Jackie Winnett.

She is survived by:

Sons – Ray (Reina Guillen Garcia) Hillis and Ronnie (Debbie) Hillis

Daughter – Karen (Dewayne) Thompson

Daughter-in-law – Tammy Hillis

Grandchildren – Richelle (Lee), Eric (Brandy), Brandy, D.J. (Kim), Nathaniel, Loryn (Pat),

Ashley, Peter, Katherine (Brad) and Leslie

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at Center Chapel Church of Christ, 9500 Central Pike, Mt. Juliet, TN with Darrell Duncan and Doug Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Lee Tramel, Eric Hillis, Peter Hillis, D.J. Thompson, Nathaniel Thompson and Chris O’Guin. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ladies Bible Study Class at Center Chapel Church of Christ.

Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
