Robert Dean Burdine

Burdine, Robert Dean , age 96, of Old Hickory, TN died March 2, 2023. Bob, also known as Boy Dean or B, was born in Lawrenceburg, TN and was the son of the late, Edward Russell Burdine and Lucile Springer Burdine. Growing up during the Great Depression, he had a heart for reaching out to those in need. He was a faithful member of Hermitage United Methodist Church and the Ballinger Sunday School Class beginning in the 1960s to present. Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was the owner and operator of Burdine Supply Company, a family wholesale plumbing and electrical supply business, until his retirement. Bob enjoyed working in his yard and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Jean McRae Burdine and his siblings, Russell Burdine Jr., Thomas Burdine, Dadie Harvey, Margaret Tripp, and John Burdine.

He is survived by:

Daughter - Sallie (James) Dye

Sister - Annette Green

Granddaughters - Elizabeth (Justin) Mitchell, Julianna Dye, and Caroline Dye

Great-grandson - Emmett Mitchell

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2023 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will be follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Hermitage United Methodist Church for the Hunger Ministry or to the Ballinger Sunday School Class.
