Richard Kelly Gleaves Jr.

Gleaves, Jr., Richard Kelly “Ricky” , age 66, of Mt. Juliet, TN died August 15, 2023. Ricky was born in Nashville, TN. He was employed by McRedman Bros. Ricky enjoyed camping, grilling, rail buggy’s and “Big Boy Toys”, but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Rose Gleaves and his brothers, James Thaxton Gleaves and Danny Gleaves.

He is survived by:

Wife of 47 years – Carolyn Garton Gleaves

Father - Richard Kelly (Ruby) Gleaves, Sr.

Children – Rachel (John) Curtis and Jesse (Tammy) Gleaves

Brother – Jason (Melissa) Gleaves

Sister – Melinda Gleaves

Grandchildren – Gage Cote, Jameson Gleaves and Ayden Curtis

Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, August 18, 2023 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Russ Stephens officiating. Interment will follow at P.M. Carver, Fuqua, Gleaves Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Gleaves, Gage Cote, Benjamin Knihtila, Ernest Dickens, John Curtis and Courtney Knihtila. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Jones, Steve Jackson, Jerry Larkin, Timmy Peek and Mike Lutz.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Alive Hospice, Sarah Cannon Research Institute or the Danny Gleaves Scholarship at Mt. Juliet High School.
