Morgan Cantrell

June 18, 2025 — March 18, 2019

On the morning of March 18, 2019, Morgan Cantrell, of Watertown, TN passed away at the age of 83. Morgan was born in Kingston, West Virginia to John and Bessie Cantrell in 1935, the youngest of seven children. Following graduation, Morgan enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed at Dover Air Force Base in Dover, Delaware. Upon returning to Bend, Oregon, Morgan met and eventually married his wife of 57 years, Marion Judith Moores and together they raised two daughters, Terissa and Lisa.
Morgan worked in various fields throughout his life, but thoroughly enjoyed being a master Gunsmith, and President of the Central Oregon Muzzle Loaders Assoc. He hand crafted rifles from mere pieces of wood, into functioning pieces of art. If he didn’t have the part he needed for a rifle he was working on, he simply made it. He took great joy in passing on his extensive knowledge of guns to his close friends, including Shaun and his son-in-law Craig. Morgan was also an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed taking his family with him during his outings. Morgan loved photography, flying small planes and had hoped to get his pilot’s license at one point.
Morgan is survived by, his wife Judy Cantrell, Daughters, Terissa and Lisa, his older brother Ralph and several nieces and nephews.

At Mr. Cantrell’s request, his remains will be cremated.
