Mary Ruth Johnson

Mary Ruth Johnson, age 82, was born on November 19, 1943. She passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Mary Ruth was born to Clifford "Cap" and Thelma Boner in Nashville, Tennessee. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Mary Ruth was a warm and lively person who loved her family deeply. She was known for her cooking skills and often delighted those around her with delicious meals. She had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed laughing, bringing joy to many. Mary Ruth was also never shy about sharing her opinions—when she had something to say, you knew it. She had a passion for yard sales and antiques, always finding treasures and stories along the way. Bingo was one of her favorite pastimes, and she loved to dress in stylish clothes that matched her personality. Travel was also close to Mary Ruth's heart as she enjoyed traveling when she was able.

Daughter - Thelma Poole

Grandchildren - Austin Munson and Elizabeth Thomas

Great-Grandchildren - Josh Munson and Olivia Thomas

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford "Cap" and Thelma Boner; her late husband, Ken Johnson; her son Michael Johnson; and her siblings Cliffordean Eakes, Buddy Boner, Lee Boner, Betty Frank, and Nancy Mathis.

Mary Ruth Johnson will be remembered for her love, laughter, and zest for life. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A funeral service for Mary Ruth will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel with internment to follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
