Easley, Mary Cheryl (Cher) , age 77 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, in St. Petersburg, FL. She was born on April 11, 1945, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, GA. The family soon returned to Nashville, TN, where she resided for the next 50 plus years before retiring in Madeira Beach, FL.
She is preceded in death by her father, George Thomas Pearson Sr., mother, Mary Elizabeth Gleaves, step-father, Wallace Gleaves, step-mother, (Peggy Pearson), and brother, George Thomas Pearson, Jr. She is survived by her brother, Billy (Kitty) Pearson, sister, Georgette (Jim) Simmons, three children, Johnathan (Michelle) Sloan, Michele (Keith) Batson, and Andrea Murphy (Jeff Bradow), grandchildren David Sloan, Sean Murphy, Padraic Murphy, and bonus grandchildren, Tucker (Megan) Batson, Zach Batson, Hannah Bradow, and Abigail Bradow, as well numerous extended family and friends in TN and FL.
Cheryl loved her family, friends, and God. She loved to travel and was rarely still. The beach, music, golf, sports, gardening, and reading were just a few of her passions.
Cheryl was a successful Realtor/Broker, Home Builder, and Developer. She was a trailblazer and became one of the first women General Contractors in Wilson County, TN. She worked in the real estate industry for over 45 years, earning numerous awards and held an active license to the day she passed.
Cheryl loved her country and the military. In honor of her late brother George and his service, she joined the American Legion Post # 273 in Maderia Beach, FL, in addition to the Women’s Auxiliary Group, serving as past President.
She was very generous and contributed to many charities. St. Joseph‘s Indian School was especially near & dear to her.
Cheryl was a loving daughter, mother, nana, sister, and friend to all. She will be greatly loved, missed, and remembered. Please join us in celebrating her life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ray Handisides officiating. Entombment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Keith Batson, Jeff Bradow, David Sloan, Sean Murphy, Tucker Batson, and Steve Pearson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Legion Post #273, Maderia Beach, FL, 33708 in Cheryl Easley’s memory.
