Mary Martha Crone

Crone, Mary Martha (O’Brien) , age 80, of Chillicothe, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, at home with her family.  Born in Peoria, IL, and raised in Peoria Heights, IL, she attended Richwoods High School and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School. After graduating from Midstate College, she worked at Western Illinois University and University of Chicago before taking time off to raise her children. The remainder of her career was spent at ACPM Podiatry where she was the office manager. Throughout her life she was an avid volunteer, including over a decade as a girl scout leader. She was an active member of TOPS, Red Hat, and Optimists of Chillicothe. Mary was a generous and kindhearted person with a large network of friends. She was a talented artist and enjoyed bowling in her younger years.

Mary was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters Wendy Crone (Alan Carroll) of McFarland, WI, and Trisha Zoller (Jason) of Old Hickory, TN, grandchildren, Caitlyn Zoller and William “Liam” Carroll, sister Judith E. (O’Brien) McMillan, cousin Dennis Tracy (Carol), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Richard W. Crone, and parents William G. O’Brien and Lois C. (Walmsley) O’Brien.
