Joy Carlene Buttrey

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joy Carlene Jones Buttrey, age 78, who departed this life on April 22, 2026, surrounded by family. Joy was born in Springfield, Robertson County, Tennessee, on March 27, 1948.

Joy was dedicated to family and friends. She was a 1966 graduate of Greenbrier High School. For 31 years, she worked as a Community Association Manager, earning the respect of colleagues and peers. She attended Victory Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet. In recent years, she enjoyed traveling and always enjoyed flower arranging.

Joy is survived by daughters Donna Roll, Mt. Juliet; Lori Ramon (Curt), Mt. Juliet; Angela Lagersen, Nashville; Grandson, Sebastian Roll, Knoxville; Sister, Sue Hufham, Springfield, Missouri; and Sister-in-Law, Loretta Jones, Springfield, Tennessee. Joy was preceded in death by Husband, Raymond Buttrey; parents, Grady Henry Jones and Launa Yates Jones; brother, Grady Leon Jones; and son-in-law, Michael Roll.

A memorial service for Joy will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel, with visitation to begin at 9 am and service to follow at 11 a.m. Friends and Family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate the life of Joy. A private burial will follow the service at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Springfield, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203, or Compassionate Friends Sunday School Class, Victory Baptist Church,1777 Tate Lane, Mt Juliet, TN 37122.

Joy will be dearly missed but never forgotten. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to inspire all who knew her.
