Johnnie Mai Mcelroy

McElroy, Johnnie Mai , age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN died November 18, 2023. Johnnie was born in La Vergne, TN. She enjoyed fishing and canning and was known as an excellent cook. Above all else she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Annie Burnett; son, Bobby Newman; sister, Sarah Penny and stepson, Don Newman.

She is survived by:

Husband – Kenneth A. McElroy, Jr.

Daughters – Nancy (Rick) Montgomery and Sara Deffendall

Sister – Virginia (James) Banks

Half-Sister – Eileen Stewart

Half-Brothers – Henry Burnett and John (Debbie) Burnett

11 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Dwight Spurlock officiating.  Interment will follow at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a favorite charity of your choosing.
