Jerry Miller McDonald, age 80, passed away on June 23, 2026. He was born on February 22, 1946, in Laguardo, TN, to Charlie and Mary McDonald.

Jerry was a 1964 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. He later went on to be known for his strong work ethic, and he took great pride in his craft, having had a fulfilling career as a pipefitter at DuPont for over 30 years. He had a passion for old westerns, guns, and enjoyed going out dancing with friends. A devoted husband for 60 years, he cherished his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jerry was actively involved in their lives, coaching Trey, Dae Dae, and Dakota in football and always making time for family gatherings.

He is remembered not only for his love of family but also for his generosity and kindness toward friends and neighbors. Jerry will be deeply missed by all who knew him, leaving behind lasting memories and a legacy of love.

Jerry is survived by:

Wife - Devoted wife of 60 years, Patsy McDonald

Brother - Dale McDonald (Camilla)

Daughter - Delaina Thompson (David)

Grandchildren - Dakota Scoby (Emily), Trey Scoby (Hailey), David Thompson (Marissa), and Jennica Thompson

Great-Grandchildren - Annica Rodgers, Anzio Thompson, Dayvi Thompson, and Benjamin Scoby.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mary McDonald, his brothers Joe Allen McDonald and Charles Franklin McDonald, and his son Jason McDonald.

Visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Bond Memorial Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Graveside service with interment for Jerry will take place the next day at the McDonald Family Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. at 693 Mires Road, Mt. Juliet, TN.
