Jeri Lou Mathews, a vibrant spirit, passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on August 10, 1957, in Butte, Montana, Jeri's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a passion for nurturing both people and her plants.
Jeri was a devoted mother and grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her grandbabies. A passionate hairdresser, Jeri pursued her love for cutting hair while raising her children, providing a source of joy and creativity in her life. Later, her grandchildren truly became her pride and joy. In addition to spending time with her grandkids, Jeri was also an avid gardener with an exceptional green thumb. Jeri had a special talent for cultivating gardens of all sizes, turning even the smallest seed into lush blooms. Her connection to nature extended to her beloved pets, including her puppy Rocky and her rescue kitties, Sonny and Dora, who were cherished members of her family. created a warm and welcoming home that reflected her nurturing spirit, able to transform any space into a sanctuary. Jeri had an innate ability to see the best in everyone she met, making friends wherever she went. Her vibrant personality was full of spice, reflecting her strong spirit.
Jeri is survived by:
Children - Wesley Eldredge (Gretel), Emily Tucker (Donny), Courtnie Davis (Chad), Rodney Coty (Brook Marrow), and Daniel Coty (Silvana)
Grandchildren - Sage, Zoë, Everett, Vianne, Elliette, Zachary, Addison, Mason, Leilani, and Ella.
Great-grandchild -Björn
She is also survived by her dog Rocky and her two rescue kitties, Sonny and Dora.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Nielson, her sister Janice Marecek, and her daughter, Brooke Taylor Coty.
Jeri Lou Mathew leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and an unwavering zest for life. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know her. In honoring her memory, let us cherish the gardens she tended and the love she so freely shared.
There will be no services for Jeri at this time. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
