Stamps, James (Big Daddy) , age 89 of Mt. Juliet, TN graduated to glory on February 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Big Daddy was born in Goodlettsville, TN and spent many years in Joelton, TN. He lived the last 45years of his life on Logue Road in Mt. Juliet. Jimmy was a champion golfer, loved all sports and was an example and coach to many. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He enjoyed annual Florida trips with his family, and he didn’t learn to swim until the grandkids came along. He worked hard his entire life ... Gates Rubber Co., Stamps & Waller Tire Service and Pine Creek Golf Course which started “Big Daddy’s Bunch.’
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Juanita Foutch Stamps; son, Wayne (Lisa) Stamps; daughter, Darlene (Mike) Navin and sister, Martha Coleman, sister-in-law, Linda Foutch Johns who was more like a daughter. Six loving grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He had some very
special friends-you know who you are and that he loved all of you.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, James and Irene Stamps; brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Irene Stamps; sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Johnny Vannatta; and brothers-in-law, Herman Coleman and Steve Johns. His biggest heartbreak was his son, Wendell Stamps; daughter-in-law Judy
Proctor Stamps and granddaughter, Alicia Stamps. The family would like to thank Alive Hospice for the care provided.
