Hanley Delaney Hammond

Hanley Delaney Hammond, age 60,  was born on March 22, 1966, in Fort Payne, Alabama. He passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family.

Hanley was a man who found great joy in simple things. He loved his church family at Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. Alabama football was one of his passions, and he enjoyed cheering for his favorite team. Flowers brought him happiness, and he had a special appreciation for their beauty. He loved cooking and often enjoyed preparing meals that warmed his heart and his belly. Hanley was a homebody who cherished being at home, surrounded by comfort and peace.

Mother - Wynelle Hammond Franklin 

Sisters - Kim Hammond and Amy Childress

Niece - Chelsey Rhodes (Dusty)

Nephew - Levi Childress (Lauryn)

Great Nephews - Hody and Boone Childress, and Trayce and Wyatt Rhodes

Great Niece - Kenadie Delaney Rhodes

Hanley is also survived by an abundance of special friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Franklin D. Hammond, his grandparents, Ernest and Lola Mae Hammond, & Elburn and Mattie Wilks.

Though this is a time of sadness, it is also a moment to remember Hanley’s kindness, his love for those close to him, and the quiet strength he showed every day. His simple joys and gentle spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.

A funeral service for Hanley will be held on Friday, May 5, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Interment for Hanley will be held in Henegar, Alabama, at the Henegar Cemetery on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
