Cass, Gary , age 70, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away February 24, 2019. A native of Detroit, Michigan, Gary attended Central Michigan University where he met his beautiful bride, Josie. He graduated from CMU with three degrees in education and spent his entire life impacting students in the state of Michigan. Gary was a guidance counselor, the youngest school principal in Michigan at the age of 28, high school basketball coach, Director Education for the state of Michigan and ended his career working for his dear friend at JCR & Associates managing charter schools across the state. He loved Michigan sports and was a diehard Michigan State and Detroit Tigers fan. Gary watched every game with a Natural Light in hand and a deep pride for his teams. Some of his favorite memories were celebrating Spartan wins with his dear friends on Glenberry Drive. Gary had six hole-in-one’s and loved playing golf with his “boys” and his son, Bradley. He loved coaching his kid’s little league teams and never missed a game or golf match they played in. Gary was like a second father to many of the Holt kids that spent so much time at the Cass household. He loved to tell stories, make inappropriate jokes and made everyone laugh with his witty sense of humor. Gary has reunited in heaven with his beloved father, Joe, swapping Detroit Tigers stories and laughing on the golf course.
