Elizabeth Betty Sanslow

Sanslow, Elizabeth “Betty” , age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died June 10, 2024.  Betty was born on August 11, 1931, in Barbourville, KY and was the daughter of the late, Gus and Mary Hauser. She was a member of the Bearden United Methodist Church in Knoxville, TN for more than 65 years.  Betty was an avid swimmer, participating in the senior Swimming Olympics and holding a record for the most miles swam at Fort Sanders Fitness Center. Betty spent many years doing volunteer work at Cancer Support Community of East Tennessee, Thompson Cancer Survival Center, and Covenant Hospice. She was preceded in death by her Husband James Sanslow and 3 sisters and 4 brothers.

She is survived by:

Daughters – Terri (Bob) Yarbrough and Kristi (Norm) Porter

Grandchildren – Dara (Chris) McCormick and Rob (Bekki) Yarbrough

Great-grandchildren – C.J. McCormick, Robin and Katie Yarbrough

Funeral services to be held in Knoxville and announced at a later date.

Memorials may be contributed to the Hauser Sanslow Scholarship, Union College, Barbourville, Kentucky.
