I t is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denise Michelle Ford , a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us on May 2, 2025. Denise, at the age of 64, brought joy and creativity into the lives of all who knew her.
Denise was preceded in death by her birth parents, Russell Helmick and Donna Elliott, along with her adopted parents, Martha and Bill Elliott. She is survived by her stepmother, Carmen Helmick; her brothers, Russell Helmick III, Jason Helmick, and Craig Elliott; her son, Steven Chadwick Miller; and her daughter, Mckenzie Nicole Coker; and her grandchildren Conner, Caleb, and Carson; She also leaves behind her beloved fur baby, Max, who was a constant source of love and companionship. She is also lovingly remembered by the Mauney family, including her cherished bonus daughter, Crystal, her son Julian, and her partner, Eddie. Additionally, she is survived by many other family members who will hold her memory close to their hearts.
Denise was born in Newport beach, California, and grew up in Terre Haute, Indiana. She graduated from North Central High School in 1979 and later attended at Indiana Vocational Technical College in 1981. She furthered her education at Caldwell Community College to enhance her computer skills in 1993. Denise spent most of her life as an accountant, a profession she was passionate about and where she truly excelled with numbers. Her dedication to her work and her skill in financial matters made her a respected figure in her field. Creative to her core, Denise was not only skilled with numbers, but she was also skilled in the arts! She loved to paint, draw, and craft. She had an incredible talent for gardening and a deep love for it----it was one of her greatest passions. Additionally, she found great joy in playing the piano, filling her home with music and warmth. In addition to her other musical pursuits, Denise taught piano and organ at the Conservatory of Music in Terre Haute. Denise was also a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, a love she shared with her grandbabies.
Denise Michelle Ford leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and passion. She will always be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the unique gifts she shared with everyone in her life.
A memorial service for Denise will be held on Saturday, May 24 at 2:00PM at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mount Juliet. Visitation will be held from 12 until the time of the service.
