Danny Odell Kannady

Kannady, Danny Odell , age 77, of Mt. Juliet, TN entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, September 16, 2023. Danny was born in Mena, Arkansas and was the son of the late, Harding Odell Kannady and Hazel Hemphill Kannady. He was a current member of Green Hill Church, Mt Juliet, and previously served as an Elder at Cool Community Church in Cool, CA., as an Elder at Mother Lode Church in Lotus, CA as well as a Deacon at Foothill Bible Church in Lincoln, CA.  Danny was a veteran of the United States Army. Danny’s vocation was a Systems Engineer and he retired from Verifone and Southland Corporation. He was a Bible scholar/teacher and enjoyed investing in the people in his life, especially young people.  It gave him great joy to be a friend and mentor.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years – Janet Waller Kannady, and his children – Jason (Ruby) Kannady and Nathan (Lauren) Kannady

Danny was blessed to call many his Grandkids – Bethany Kannady, Mary Anne Kannady, Jacob Newman, Lucy Kannady, Lauryn Newman, Haleigh Black, Emily Kannady, Taylor Black, Alec Kannady, Zacariaz Mancha, Craig “CJ” Kannady (Karly), Gabriel Mancha

As he traveled through his life, he and Janet “adopted” more “kids” along the way – Victor Cordova, Judy Russell Maynard, Wes Younger, Miriam Younger, Andrew Younger, Richard and Jeannette McGrath, Toni Martin Stolp, Scott Borello.

His life has been enriched by precious family and wonderful, treasured friends.

His Celebration of Life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Green Hill Church, 13251 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Brandon James officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made, in Danny’s name, to the Church Youth Camp Scholarship Fund at Green Hill Church or at the church of your choice. Memorials may also be made to The Gideons International.

An additional Celebration of Life service is being planned for the fall of 2023 in Northern California for friends and family there.
