Cleo Frances Irby Knotts

Knotts, Cleo Frances Irby , age 96, died June 14, 2019. Mrs. Knotts was a member of Woodson Chapel Church of Christ. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was the first Nashville WAVE enlisted since the Invasion of France. Mrs. Knotts was a former employee of Vultee aircraft and was a Civil Servant for the U.S. Military during her entire lifetime. She was the daughter of the late, Benjamin F. and Ina Mae Stegall Irby. Mrs. Knotts was also preceded in death by her husband, John Phillip Knotts, Sr. and her siblings, Ted Irby, Jack Irby and Doris Lehning.

She is survived by:

Children – Barbara York, Phyllis Lewis and John Knotts, Jr.

Grandchildren – Mitzi, Dana, Tami, Rachel, Jessica, Jordan, Kimberly, John, III

and Lacy

Great-grandchildren – Tyler, Carley, Elijah, Hayden, Scarlett, Sadie, Sutton

and Ramsey

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette Street, Nashville, TN 37203.
