Hover, Chelsia “Chet” , passed away November 14, 2021 in Nashville, TN with her eldest daughter and son-in-law by her side. Born in Evanston, IL to George and Jane Webster, she grew up in Highland Park with her brother Chandler Webster. After graduating from Newcomb College in Louisiana, she married Noel LaMarr Hover in Highland Park, IL on July 26, 1952. They quickly departed for Colorado and lived in Denver for over 50 years. After Noel’s passing in 2003, Chet eventually moved to Highlands Ranch, CO and lived there until moving to TN in the spring of 2021 to be under the care of her eldest daughter. Being an avid reader (her favorites being Winnie the Pooh and Georgette Heyer romance novels) and writer, she was infamously known for her humorous annual Christmas letters to family and friends. She loved writing, especially recounting funny memories and experiences through her life as well as a wonderful author of numerous amusing poems for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and baby-showers. Chet was active in her church group, was an elective polling judge for over 10 years, volunteered for many years for the channel 6 auction aired on television in the 1970’s-80’s, and one of her most significant contributions to our world was becoming a Denver foster parent. Dreading having an empty house as their children grew up and moved out, Chet and Noel fostered 25 newborn and often premature babies, many with medical conditions. They provided foster care for Denver Social Services from 1985 to 2002. Not having enough to do with newborn babies, she also fostered greyhound dogs for the Colorado Greyhound Rescue as well as helped field phone-calls for the organization. A lover of all animals, the house was never void of some sort of four-footed friend. Never one for sad endings, she read the endings of books first to make sure it all turned out well, and only watched movies where the couple ends up happily ever after. Although not known for being a cook, she made a to die for chocolate sauce. All those who knew her, knew of her love for chocolate, her knowledge of history and literature, and her witty writing. She will be deeply missed by all but especially by her family.
