Carol J. Roberts

Roberts, Carol J. Miller , age 83, of Mt. Juliet, TN and formerly of Willimantic, CT died peacefully on March 31, 2024.  Carol was born January 6, 1941, in Willimantic, CT and was the daughter of the late, Robert E. Miller and Evangeline J. Hansen.  She lived her early life with her grandparents, Raymond H. and Lillian A. Dodd.  Carol was a graduate of Windham High School and Hartford Airline Personnel School.  She worked for the Mathematics Department of the University of Connecticut in Grants and Contracts, retiring in 2001.  Carol was a member of the First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years at the Old Stone Church in Willimantic, CT.  She loved to travel, enjoying the beauty and tranquility of downhill skiing in Vermont and Colorado, and bicycling on Cape Cod.  Her active life changed after a stroke in 2001, but she never let her physical impairments hold her back.  Carol counted her many blessings and never gave up. She loved being with her grandchildren; their youth made her feel young and happy.  In 2009, Carol moved to the Del Webb community in Mt. Juliet, TN where she enjoyed playing Bocce ball, going paddle boating, Bible study, learning Canasta, going on bus trips and traveling with family.  Carol was predeceased by her sister, Marilyn J. Easton.

She is survived by:

Daughters - Judy (Thomas) Chase and Donna (David) Hickman

Grandchildren – Mary Hickman, Mark Hickman, Holly Chase (Eddie Eseppi),

and Jacquelyn Chase

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Providence Church, 2293 S. Rutland Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Jacob Armstrong officiating.  Visitation will be at the church at 12:00 p.m.

Interment will be in East Cemetery in Tolland, CT at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 29 Puddin Lane, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
