Buford Ray Birchett Sr.

Birchett, Sr. Buford Ray , age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away on January 13, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Birchett, and his siblings, Bill Birchett, Bobby Birchett, Louise Buckingham, Peggy Tomlinson, James Birchett, George Birchett Jr., and Franklin Birchett.

He is survived by loving wife of 43 years – Pam Birchett

Sons – Buford Ray (Celeste) Birchett, Jr. and David Duane Birchett Step-daughters – Jill Baxter and Tammy (Lynn) Webb

Sister – Betty Cassety

Grandchildren – Liza (Audrey) Zickgraf, Buford Ray (Brittany) Birchett III, Kara (Glenn) Coggin, Chara Birchett, Tamela (Daniel) Pierce, Raelyn (Robert) Chumney, and Laura Scott

Great Grandchildren – Joey Robertson, Graclyn Perkins, Charleigh Birchett, Evelyn Coggin, Landon Pierce, Silas Pierce, and Jordan Chumney

Buford Ray Birchett Sr. loved his family dearly and helped all of them walk closer with the Lord. He started his career at CB Ragland and then worked as truck driver at Yellow Freight for 25 years. While at Yellow, he received the 10 Million Miler award for being part of the fleet without any accidents for several years. He loved to visit the beach and the mountains with his wife, Pam, as often as possible. He doted on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. From Ray, who he called "Bud," "He was the best grandaddy there ever was."

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Craig Evans officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Ray Birchett Jr., David Birchett, Ray Birchett III, Randy Birchett, Derrick Knowles and Rick Tomlinson.
