Butcher, Barbara Ann , age 70, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 21, 2024. Barbara was born in Shelbyville, TN and was the daughter of the late William and Rebecca Bell. She graduated from Shelbyville Central High School and then went on to receive a nursing degree from Erlanger School of Nursing in Chattanooga, TN. It was there that she met and fell in love with her husband of 49 years Frank Butcher. She worked as a nurse at Cookeville Regional Hospital for over 30 years where she helped countless others recover during their times of need. Barbara was a strong woman of faith and a member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Barbara had a heart for helping others and she enjoyed donating her time and resources to Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s Food Pantry, Nashville Rescue Mission, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Compassion International. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, coloring, and collecting owls. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hillard Franklin “Frank” Butcher Jr., and her sisters, Rebecca McGilliard and Patricia Baker.

She is survived by:

Children – Katherine Grace (Michael) Patch, Kristina Louise (Chad) Crocker, Rev. Kenneth Franklin (Missy) Butcher, and Kelly Michele (Tommy) Leak

Brother – Michael (Tammy) Bell and Brother-in-law Bobby McGilliard

Grandchildren – Brooklynn Rose Patch, Sarah Grace Patch, Christopher Franklin Butcher, Julianne Faith Butcher, Hailey Ann Leak, and Lindsey Elizabeth Leak

Graveside funeral services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Willow Mount Cemetery in Shelbyville, TN with Rev. Michael Reese officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Patch, Chad Crocker, Tommy Leak, Jason King, Mike Bell and Steve Butcher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church’s Food Pantry.
