Annette Travis Goins

Goins, Annette Travis , age 84, of Donelson, TN died March 30, 2024. Mrs. Goins was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. Since she was 8 months old, she was raised in Donelson by her grandparents, William and Melinda Flowers. Mrs. Goins attended Donelson Grammar School and Donelson High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Harold Goins. They were married for 62 years when he died in 2018. Mrs. Goins was a School Mother Patrol for 9 years at Donelson Elementary School and she retired from Summit Hospital/HCA after 29 ½ years of service. She enjoyed sewing and playing with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was very active with her children and grandchildren while they were playing ball. She made many costumes for the children and the grandchildren over the years. Mrs. Goins was a member of Jere Baxter, Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #343, where she had served as Past Matron. She enjoyed going to Eastern Star meetings and traveling with her Eastern Star friends. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her father and step-mother, Frank and Lillian Travis; mother, Margaret Donnell; son, Robert Harold “Bobby” Goins, Jr. and siblings, Franklin Lynwood Travis, Bill Travis, Jimmy Travis, Al McConnell, Jean Ginos, Roberta Green and Glenda Shearon.

She is survived by:

Sons – Timothy (Renee) Goins, Darryl (Becky) Goins, Sr. and Barry Goins

Daughter-in-law – Mrs. Bobby (Sherri) Goins

Sisters – Marjorie Tidwell

Stepbrothers – Bob, Frank and Jim McConnell

Grandchildren – Mandy Goins, True Goins, T.J. Goins, Matt Goins, Devin Goins, Megan Goins, Ashley Comer, Melinda Heady and Darryl Goins, Jr.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2024 at Center Chapel Church of Christ, 9500 Central Pike, Mt. Juliet, TN with Bro. Darrell Duncan  officiating and Eddie Graves leading the singing. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be True Goins, T.J. Goins, Darryl Goins, Jr., Matt Goins, Billy Goins and David Goins. Honorary pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Center Chapel Church of Christ, fellow Eastern Star members, the Colonial Circle friends, Mary Jackson and children, Darlene Rose and children and Lewis Claud and children.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. Thursday with an Eastern Star service at 7 p.m. and at the church one hour prior to the service.
