DeWitt, Glen Jewell, age 81, of Hermitage, TN, died May 3, 2018 surrounded by his family. Glen was an active member of Donelson Church of Christ. He was retired from Ozburn Hessey Logistics. Glen was the son of the late, Ralph and Mary Dorothy Moran DeWitt. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Josh Dodson.

He is survived by:

Wife – Delores Parkerson DeWitt

Daughters – Mary Lynn DeWitt and Kim (Tim) Carney

Step-children – Teresa (Dean) Lewis, Tina Hallums and Todd (Elaine) Hallums

Grandchildren – Kade Dodson, Trevor Davis, Phillip (Kelly) Lewis,

                      Justin (Julia) Lewis, Samantha Hallums and Jacob Hallums

Great-grandson – Hunter Dodson

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the chapel of Donelson Church of Christ, 2706 Old Lebanon Road, Donelson, TN with Bro. Russ King officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to service time Tuesday at the church.

Dove, Mary Helen Garrison, age 91, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 5, 2018.

Mrs. Dove was a member of Grace Place Church of God. She was the daughter of the late, Levi and Lilly Belle Brezeale Garrison. Mrs. Dove was also preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Joe Dove and 11 siblings.

She is survived by:

Grandchildren – April Whitfield, Erin Weston, Amanda Wilkins and Daniel Dove

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at Grace Place Church of God, 4316 Central Pike, Hermitage, TN. Burial will be in Philadelphia, MS at a later date.

Haines, Scott O., age 44, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 5, 2018. Scotty was the owner of Fairways Plus Landscaping. He was a 1992 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Scotty enjoyed body building.

He is survived by:

Richey, Paul Daniel “Dan”, age 67, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed quietly in his sleep on May 5, 2018 due to a blood clot in his lung. Mr. Richey, as owner of Richey Restoration, was a mold remediation expert, a restorer of burnt and flooded homes, a crime scene clean up specialist and was a hazardous materials removal authority. He was also a youth soccer coach, music lover and former professional musician. Mr. Richey, known for his irrepressible personality, was a remarkable member of the Nashville service and music community.

Murphy, Christine Crabtree, age 89, of Lebanon, TN, died May 8, 2018. Mrs. Murphy was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, Blue Grass music and gathering with family. Mrs. Murphy was the daughter of the late, John Thomas and Eva Lee Bell Crabtree. She was also preceded in death by 5 siblings.

She is survived by:

Husband of 65 years – Chester Murphy

Son –Tony (Patricia) Murphy

Sister – Louise Teague

Grandson – Clayton (Jessica) Scales

Mitchem, Joseph Samuel, age 80, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 17, 2018. Mr. Mitchem was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998. Mr. Mitchem enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was also an avid reader. Mr. Mitchem was the son of the late, Joseph Simon and Femie Mitchem. He was also preceded in death by several siblings.

Wife of 50 years – Virginia Mitchem

Son – Scott Mitchem

Sister – Sylvia (Buddy) Sparks

Robertson, Joe Bert, age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 23, 2018. Mr. Robertson was a member of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving WWII and was retired from Sun Oil Company. Mr. Robertson enjoyed bowling and was especially fond of his Bischon, Lucy. He was the son of the late, Edward and Hettie Morrison Robertson. Mr. Robertson was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lela Robertson and six siblings.

Roberts, Wanda Nell, age 96, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 28, 2018. Mrs. Roberts was a member of Southern Oaks Freewill Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Ok and attended Hermitage Church of the Nazarene in Hermitage, TN. She was very active with the senior adults at church. She was a fierce competitor in game playing and cards. Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late, Paul and Loula Haynes Ladd. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.A. Roberts; son, Randall Darey Roberts and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Roberts will be transported to Oklahoma City, OK where services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Southern Oaks Freewill Baptist Church, 7201 S. Santa Fe Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK. Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

Goins, Sr., Robert Harold, age 82, of Donelson, TN, died May 25, 2018. Mr. Goins was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. He attended Mt. Juliet Grammar School and Donelson High School, where he played football. Mr. Goins was retired from Nashville Bridge Company after 43 years of service. He was the former president of the Donelson Little League and he enjoyed gardening. Mr. Goins was the son of the late, Sammie Lee and Ollie May Miller Goins. He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Harold “Bobby” Goins, Jr. and 9 siblings.

 

He is survived by:

Wife of 62 years – Annette Goins

Sons – Timothy (Renee) Goins, Darryl (Becky) Goins, Sr. and Barry Goins

Ford, Geoffrey Robert, age 84, a resident of Del Webb in of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 28, 2018. Mr. Ford was a native of St. Helens, England. He was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist faith and served in the Corps of Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers in the British Army. Mr. Ford was employed by Pilkington Glass Company. He and his family traveled the world during his employment, living in Mexico City, Australia and finally settling in Tennessee. Mr. Ford was a chartered engineer and a member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in England. He was a member of Donelson/Hermitage Rotary International and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Mr. Ford was the son of the late, Charles James and Florence Jane Roberts Ford. He was also preceded in death by his son, Gregory James Ford and sister, Kathleen Clara Ford Baker.

She was the daughter of the late, George Robert and Mildred Fitz Somers. Mrs. Barber was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Barber and brother, William Robert Somers.

Bonner, Bruce William,age 56, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 31, 2018. Bruce was a member of Providence United Methodist Church and was an employee of United Methodist Communications.
